Job Summary

The Project Manager ensures that Flowserve meets our commitments on complex aftermarket orders related to repairs, upgrades, hydraulic rerates, and maintenance of rotating pumps and equipment for our customers in industries such as oil, chemical, pharmaceutical, municipal water/wastewater, and power. These complex projects involve technical challenges, substantial risk, and multiple service centers, and they may cross state and international boundaries. The position reports to the Services & Solutions Manager of Project Management, North America and the position is located in Leduc, AB facility.

Responsibilities

• Leads kickoff meetings and phase gate meetings to coalesce strategies into actions. Identifies stakeholders and analyzes their expectations. 

• Proficient at contract review documentation and make sure it reflects what has been negotiated and ensure successful execution throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assists the project team to develop the scope of supply, to translate work breakdown structure into an activity-based schedule and to identify the critical path.  Helps the team to prepare key project management documents.

• Communicates project specifications, terms and conditions to key suppliers.

• Leads project review meetings and collaborates with all disciplines during the project, including engineering, operations, and sales, to ensure that Flowserve delivers on-time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Maintain a positive customer experience while tracking progress towards budget objectives. Monitors our on-time invoice submissions and cash collections.

• Develops communication plans.  Gathers and integrates reports, data, and information to communicate regular, accurate status and forecasts to all stakeholders, including customers.  Presents project progress to management on a routine basis.

• Identifies and manages risks by ensuring contingency plans are established for all key milestones and triggered if necessary.  Ensures that contract changes are documented, approved, and integrated into the project plans. 

• Captures lessons learned as they occur, then documents and shares them with stakeholders.

• Demonstrates a commitment to effective, standardized project management.  Motivates, coaches and influences team members to learn and use project management tools and to follow best practices. Engages personnel at Flowserve’s service centers to actively participate in project teams and to assist project management efforts.

• 20% overnight travel may be occasionally required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. An equivalent of education and experience may be considered.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in rotating or fixed equipment and/or equipment packages will be required.

• 2+ years of experience in project management or related order fulfillment role within a manufacturing environment is required. 

• Deep understanding of project management concepts, with a high proficiency in project management tools and software.

• Deep understanding of the Root Cause Analysis, warranty process and natural drive towards quality.

• Strong understanding of how documents, materials, parts flow through the manufacturing environment.

• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with various audiences at the site level. Capacity to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and managers at multiple levels of the organization.

• Firmly demonstrated mental and physical organizational skills to break down and sort work into tasks; to identify and order priorities; to establish, communicate, and execute schedules; and to maintain data and files that are current and retrievable.

The Customer Product Repair Mechanic is responsible for all processes related to disassembly, repair, and assembly of a range of equipment/products including but not limited to rotating equipment, of high energy electric actuators, pumps, small compressors, and decoking equipment. The CPRM will work with team leads to execute work as provided on work instructions, routers, drawings, and checklists. The CPRM independently selects and uses inspection equipment to check dimensions of all critical components during the assembly and repair process and gives a written description of the wear and condition of critical components. This position also ensures all forms and documentation are complete prior to submission of quotation. The CPRM will also be responsible to paint, install all tagging, and prep the equipment prior to shipment to the customer.

This role has a rotating schedule (1st shift for 6 weeks then 2nd shift for 3).

First shift is: 7:30am – 4pm. (Monday – Friday)

Second shift is: 4pm – 2am. (Monday – Thursday)

Location is Leduc, Alberta

Requirements:

- HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant Millwright experience

- Significant experience with the proper and safe use of various common power and hand tools needed for assembly.

- Ability to independently, inspect, repair, and assemble, components and equipment, and accurately complete all required documentation.

- Electrical wiring experience or mechanical assembly experience.

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to problem solve, and prioritize work assignments.
- Prior experience working the fast-paced and unpredictable environment around repair services.

- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds with a full range of hand and upper-body motion to work with tools and parts.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as the business dictates.

- Must own set of personal SAE hand tools and measurement instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.) and a roll-around toolbox.
- Able to read and interpret prints, shop drawings, assembly checklists, and other written work instructions.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing work environment.
- Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset with results driven background.

Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Valve automation experience.

Role Summary:

This role of Coordinator has two facets to the position.

The Service Advisor role is to be in the forefront of the repair and service opportunities.  While working with the planner, the Service Advisor is to execute the commercial functions to communicate with customers and meet the customer’s needs.  Answer technical and commercial questions and provide technically sound and competitive quotation solutions for repair or service jobs.  Additional responsibilities include problem solving as it relates to the repair of valves and automations, and hosting inspectors as required.

The Order Fulfillment Coordinator side is to be the forefront of active valve orders.  This role will be working with suppliers and engineering to track and report out on order status as required by the customer. Additional responsibilities include documentation collection and organization for each order as required.  The activities for this portion of the role do not include quoting or sourcing new valve solutions but commences once a valid order is received.

• Create Aftermarket Portal Opportunity and Job Folder
• Initial and final quotation for all stages of repair cycle
• Support for Disassembly, Cleaning, Inspection & Quality
• PO contract review & new customer MDM and T&C’s review
• Sales Order Header entry into Oracle
• Interact with customer on upgrade/modification/discovery work
• Support Planning/Technicians with any technical issues in the rebuild of the valves
• Track order status throughout it’s life and communicate with customers as needed with delivery updates
• Working from facility position

Requirements:

• Technical Degree an asset
• 3 – 4 years of related Customer Service Experience OR
• 4 Years of successful Service Coordination or application engineering experience
• Project Management experience
• Knowledge and experience in serving process control markets
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present effective information in one-on-one or small group settings with customers
• Detail oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Internet along with the ability and willingness to learn how to use other or new business software packages as required by the role
• Oracle experience is not required but preferred
• Working ERP knowledge is beneficial
• Valve and Actuation shop experience is preferred

Rol Summary

Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot and repair all Flowserve Control Valve Business Unit products, solicit the sale and installation of spare parts.  Repair and overhaul competitor’s valves when needed.  Have end users rely upon and consider the technician as a knowledgeable control valve resource.  This position also involves the use of valve diagnostic systems for predictive and preventative maintenance.  Troubleshoot equipment returned to the factory for failure analysis.  Answer customer’s questions over the telephone or by e-mail in order to solve problems.  Analyze parts and equipment that have been returned to the factory for failure evaluation.  All other duties as assigned by manager.

Resposibilities:

• Troubleshooting and repairing equipment in the field. The equipment will primarily consist of Flowserve Control Valve products, but may also include control valve products of other manufacturers.
• Provide technical phone support to customers
• Assist Flowserve QRC’s when requested and available.
• Assist the engineering department with failure evaluations.
• Initiate Non Conformance Reports (NCR’s).
• Conduct diagnostic testing on control valves and interpret the results. Testing can be via SoftTools, Profiler, ValveSight, FAST Test, or StarTalk XP software.
• Ability to configure, calibrate and commission all digital equipment manufactured by Flowserve. Proficient with HART, MODBUS and Foundation Fieldbus digital communication protocols.

Requirements:

• College or technical school; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant experience
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Basic knowledge of computers is helpful.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear. The employee must frequently be able to reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must also occasionally lift 50 pounds or less.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include clear vision to pass a motor vehicle driving test since driving of rental or company vehicle is required with this job.
