Applications are invited for an AV Store Technician within the Technical Support department at the Glasgow School of Art on a 1 year, fixed term basis with a start date in January 2025.

We are seeking an AV Store Technician who will enjoy working in a creative and dynamic educational environment. The successful candidate will be assigned to the Digital Media team. Duties will be to provide an effective and efficient equipment-loan service for the Technical Support Department and be responsible for the day to day stock control, loan-procedures & maintenance of the departmental video, audio, presentation and other related equipment. The role-holder will also be available to advise on stock and non-stock items and to process purchase requisitions.

You should be qualified to HND level or have equivalent experience in a relevant area including experience in the safe operation and basic maintenance of A/V & A/V related equipment: video cameras, DSLRs, audio recorders & microphones, tripods & stands, projectors, media players, etc. with an understanding of the creative use of this equipment.

The Glasgow School of Art are looking to recruit a Domestic Assistant to be based at our Highlands and Islands Campus in Forres, Moray (IV36 1EL).




The successful applicant will be an experienced domestic assistant, with a broad knowledge of cleaning and domestic duties within public areas, restrooms, offices and working areas such as studios and workshops. An ability to use the full range of electrical cleaning equipment (scrubbers, polishers, driers, etc.) is desirable, although training will be given. Knowledge of COSHH also an advantage. This post holder will also have responsibility for locking up the Campus and setting the alarms.




The working hours are 30 hours per week and the role is permanent.



The hourly rate for this role is £12.49 (Grade 1 - £22,740 per annum, pro rata)

The 3D-Making team supports students from across the school to develop their ideas in wood, metal, and plastics.

We are seeking a Metalwork Technician who will enjoy working in a creative and dynamic educational environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the metalwork facilities.

You will provide support and supervision to students working with metal. You will support and maintain a welcoming and accessible community resource responsive to student needs while ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines and best practice.

You should be qualified to HND level (or able to demonstrate experience to an equivalent level) and have significant experience in metalwork fabrication, knowledge of Mill and Lathe work is advantageous; a broader understanding of 3D making practice and use of 3D CAD software is desirable.

This role is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term (4 month) contract.

The successful candidate will be a pro-active, committed and organised individual with a keen interest in business process improvement and will be expected to undertake a wide range of administrative duties and responsibilities, including accurate, high volume data entry, training of staff, management of multiple staff diaries and school calendars and facilitation of tasks across the administrative team. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills and be able to work with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of our School administrative processes, with a particular focus on quality assurance and compliance processes as well as assisting with other activities that are essential for the delivery of excellent learning and teaching within the School.

You will also provide general administrative support, such as purchasing/procurement tasks, booking travel and accommodation and organising meetings and events.

Successful candidates will have a 'can do' attitude and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and producing accurate work to tight deadlines.

To be considered for this role, you will be educated to a minimum of Higher-Grade level, or equivalent, with previous experience in a similar environment. You will be IT literate, with experience of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel and you will have excellent numeracy and literacy skills. You will be able to work in a team environment, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to organise your own workload and use your own initiative within a busy office environment.
