Ross Laboratories is a leading TGA and US FDA licensed contract manufacturer in the personal care and therapeutics industry, specialising in sun care. Ross supplies products for the Australian and international markets.
Ross is seeking a qualified and experienced QC Chemist to join their team in a permanent full-time position. Located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
The Role
A great opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic QC Chemist to join our fast paced, busy QC lab team. The QC Chemist will be responsible for the day-to-day testing of raw materials, manufactured bulk, in process checks and finished products. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience working in a GMP environment, to a high level of excellence and the ability to be agile, fast and accurate in a busy environment.
Reporting to the QC Manager, the key duties and responsibilities will be:
• Testing of raw materials to pharmacopeia standards
• Working in line with production schedule to test manufactured bulk and in process check samples
• Updating specifications and test records as required
• Participating in additional product testing, such as stability samples as required
• Supporting laboratory based projects
• Maintaining laboratory housekeeping
• Participating in laboratory investigations for out of specification results, deviations and non-conformances
• Support analyst training as required
• Maintain laboratory quality standards by ensuring high standard of work conducted at all times
• Adherence to GMP and GLP principles
• Adherence to all safety precautions
Personal Attributes, Qualifications & Relevant Experience
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
• Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry
• Previous laboratory experience within the pharmaceutical / personal care manufacturing or related environment is highly desirable
• Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated laboratory and quality control testing skills
• Proven experience working within a GMP / GLP quality environment
• Positive, proactive, professional attitude
