The Role and the Department

The Customer Services Team is part of University Library and Collections. We provide all front-line (face to face and virtual) customer, visitor, and enquiry services across our department. This includes visitor services at our museums and user services in our libraries and learning spaces, including 24/7 term-time opening.

Customer Services Coordinators are essential to the development and provision of specialist library services. They co-ordinate the day-to-day operations of the library and have areas of responsibility which include a highly responsive enquiry service, social media, user experience, digitisation, online support and circulation operations, as well as lots of opportunities to get involved in wider service delivery.

This role is key to liaison between the University Library and Collections (ULC) department and the University's Estates and Facilities, and Health and Safety teams. The post holder will be a first point of contact for matters relating to ULC buildings and Health & Safety matters. Duties include ensuring access to our buildings for contractors, accurate record keeping, providing training and support to colleagues and proactive identification, reporting, and progression of building maintenance works.

You will contribute to projects and developments, regularly monitor, and ensure compliance with H&S guidelines to contribute to the best possible experience for our users.

You will be expected to work across all the University Library and Collections locations which includes Bill Bryson Library, Palace Green Library, the Oriental Museum, 5 The College, 7 Owengate, Unit 45 (offsite store), and the ISC Library. There may be times when you are expected to be present at a different site at short notice, and you will be expected to rotate your work shifts at different sites, as necessary.

The expected weekly shift pattern for this CS Coordinator (Buildings) post is Monday to Friday, usually 8am-4pm. Evening, weekend and bank holiday shifts may be required up to 8pm.

This post is fixed term until 30 March 2025.

Our client based in South Wales is currently recruiting for a Clerk of Works / Housing Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible on an ongoing contract.

This is a full time, temporary position for an initial 3 - 6 months period and the ideal candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field and experience as a Surveyor in a social housing environment.

The purpose of the role is to assist in the provision of an efficient repairs and maintenance service and the delivery of associated housing management service.

Contribute to improvements to the housing stock and delivery of associated housing services including contractor monitoring. To carry out internal and external surveys of Housing properties and provide technical advice and support to relevant managers. Ensure the delivery of site works in accordance within approved standards, specifications and schedules associated with WHQS and HRO.

Key responsibilities:

• Record and refer any issues identified relating to property conditions or tenancy conditions
• Take and report any defects to the housing stock and process any work relating to resolving these defects.
• Identify tenant damage and unauthorised tenant alterations and provide technical assistance where required.
• Post inspect work as required and ensure that it conforms to departmental and contractual standards and in full compliance with all relevant legislation, completing customer satisfaction surveys when required.
• Assist in the implementation of a programme for planned improvement works and preventative maintenance.

Essential Functions

Working in our Contact Centre you’ll be part of one of our Customer Sales Teams who work hard to deliver the best service in the country to new and existing customers. We have three main Sales teams in which this role may sit: Loyalty Stay, Loyalty Change or Welcome.


What you’ll be doing
As an Apprentice with us you’ll be fully supported to achieve a nationally recognised Customer Service qualification by the end of your first 15 months at Sky. In your first four weeks, you’ll be fully supported by a learning specialist in our Start@Sky programme – learning all about our how we deliver outstanding customer service, making you an expert in this field. We are currently seeking two Finance Business Partners to join our Service Charges team on a temporary basis.

We have one fixed term contract available until 31st October 24 and another until 31st December 24.

This is the perfect time to join us on our transformation journey to provide a truly modern finance function, helping to support our ambition to build more homes and invest in our existing properties.

As we undertake exciting transformation projects, we need your expertise to assist in the delivery of the Service Charge accounting process and ensure the accurate setting of service charges in alignment with group policies.

This role is dynamic and involves overseeing the team of Assistant Accountants and Finance Assistants to provide financial and management accounting information to the Group. You will work closely with Housing Operations to provide financial accounting information to residents and help shape policy in this area.

In addition you will be pivotal in supporting and assisting budget holders in achieving value for money.

Some of the things we are looking for:

A Qualified Accountant with at least 2 years’ experience, including a minimum of 1 years at a team leader level or equivalent
Experience in service charges or accounting in a large and complex organisation or a regulated organisation with substantial budgets
Experience of leading and supporting a finance team
Experience of completing primary accounting statements
Experience of developing and delivering an excellent customer driven service to differing audiences and stakeholders
Good knowledge and understanding of Service Charges legislation would be desirable
While this role is home-based, occasional travel to our Group Offices in Birmingham Business Park, Solihull, or Central Park, Worcester, will be required. Service Technician – Class B

The Service Technician is responsible for performing automotive repairs and service in accordance with store and factory standards.  This individual utilizes their skills to diagnose and resolve the different sources of automotive problems swiftly and accurately.  The Service Technician works with all Service personnel and management to ensure the satisfaction of our customers.

The Service Technician reports to the Service Manager. 

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on repair order and document test procedures/results.
• Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools to include screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the service department as “special tools”.
• Return special tools to proper place. 
• Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day. 
• Ensure that customer’s vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Complete all required training.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
• Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management.
• Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.
• Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.
• Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
• Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies.  Clean gray work shirts, creased gray work trousers, shirts to be tucked in at all times.  Belts worn on trousers to be of no buckle design to avoid scratching paint on customer’s vehicles.
• Arrive at work, take breaks, and depart work at the times designated by management.

• Automotive Technical Knowledge – Three to five years’ experience
