Ensure the successful launch and provision of an innovative medicine in the Japanese market through an efficient and effective global supply chain by collaborating with internal Clinigen business units and external partners.
Lead the training and product expertise to support a unique and innovative neonatal nutritional drug introduction in the Japanese market. The Product and Training Manager spends most of their time in the field with customers and sales team members. They develop an intimate understanding of the customer needs.
Ensure that the best service is offered to healthcare professionals, patients, and other key stakeholders in an increasingly complex global business and product mix.
The partner, a U.S.-based company, is a scientifically driven company, a pioneer in its field in improving premature infant nutrition to change the standard of care for premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Key Responsibilities:
Training Manager
• Develop and execute the launch plan of a biologic product (nutritional drug) that has finished clinical trial in Japan and was submitted for J-NDA in summer 2024.
• Closely work with the partner’s training team to localize the existing training program to the Japan market needs. In collaboration with the partner’s training team, develop an in-service plan, manual and other materials for Health care professionals in NICUs across Japan.
• Support the tactical implementation of strategic marketing initiative by working closely with marketing and commercial team members to ensure a thorough understanding of products
• Roll out the initial training, adjusting as necessary through feedback loops, before training a team of trainers.
• Create local language training materials in collaboration with Clinigen’s overseas external partner and relevant stakeholders internally and externally in Japan
• Spend time in the field with sales team to provide field training and assess sales team capabilities, provide feedback to management.
• Assess the needs and develop new product/nutrition/environment training to improve efficiency of sales organization
Product Manager
• Be the product champion and expert. Maintain a full and up-to-date understanding of the product line features and benefits, and industry best practices
• Develop product training material.
• Develop and execute an in-service program in line with the product lifecycle (In the introduction phase: execute in-service programs at new accounts to take the product through the key period after launch, and in the growth phase, train the sales organization to become self-sufficient with in-service). Assist customers requiring a higher level of product proficiency in the field
• Develop an intimate understanding of the customer base and its needs
• Gather market and competitive data, customer insights on products and market landscape information (including formal market research when needed), and share through reports to the Commercial Lead: Innovative Medicines and the partner
• Represent the voice of customers, create strategy and approaches to handling and overcoming objections to increase adoption.
• Address customer complaints
• Collaborate with the Medical Affairs Lead and team to train, troubleshoot, develop, and disseminate training tools for the Commercial team
• Bachelor’s degree in a science or medicine-related field
• Willingness to travel and spend substantial amounts of time in the field with sales team and customers.
• Strong understanding of Japanese NICUs, key stakeholders and decision-making units within the Japanese hospital environment
• Previous experience and qualification as a NICU nurse and/or dietitian
• Strong English and cross-cultural skills – ability and flexibility to communicate efficiently with U.S./internationally based partner team.
• Broad personal network of hospital contacts to enhance the new business pipeline
• Data-driven and analytical, with a logical approach to planning to identify and leverage opportunities
• Proactive and solutions-driven, with a high level of accountability and ownership for driving results through people
• Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to collaborate effectively on projects with mutually beneficial outcomes
