Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As an Estimator, youll work within an exciting, challenging and growing area of the SSE Enterprise business, supporting and undertaking the development of pricing and tendering for Electrical Distribution projects for a variety of connections ranging from residential to large industrial schemes. The primary focus of this role will be to provide bid and tendering support to the ICP Engineering Team on new DNO and IDNO adoptable electrical infrastructure projects, from LV through to 33kV at tender stage through to supporting the ICP Engineering Team on project cost variations throughout the Delivery stage.
The main responsibilities within this role will be;
- Working closely with the ICP Engineering Team and the SSE Procurement Teams you will develop project costs and bid returns based on the conceptual designs produced by the ICP Engineering Team.
- You will support in the management of design and build contract costs based on the tenders and bids you originally prepared for a project, supporting the relevant teams with contract cost inclusions and project variations.
- You will work closely with the ICP Team in order to identify improvements to processes and tools which will introduce positive enhancements to our business and your role whilst identifying key challenges and creative solutions to drive growth in the business.
- You will review and interpret electrical design drawings and schedules to populate bill of quantities for electrical plant and materials and associated labour costs for projects.
- Review of request for price documentation prepared by the Engineering Team and production of tender packages inclusive of supporting documentation for issue to the supply chain.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Background in Electrical Network estimating working within a DNO, IDNO or ICP environment, with considerable experience in a similar role.
- A basic understanding of the energy industry.
- Track record in delivering accurate project costings in a similar role, to agreed timescales.
- Knowledge and experience with relevant engineering legislation and industry good practice for adoptable DNO and IDNO electricity networks
- Excellent experience with Microsoft Office package
