Your Role as a Maintenance Plumber:

As a Maintenance Plumber at HMP Addiewell, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of gas, hot, and cold-water systems within our establishment. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring all work complies with relevant codes of practice, environmental protection requirements, and Sodexo's policies and procedures. You will maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, ensuring all activities meet the highest trade standards.

In addition to technical tasks, you will interact with staff and external visitors professionally and courteously and report any security breaches promptly. You will also be expected to always adhere to Health and Safety policies. Occasionally, you may need to escort specialist contractors and collaborate with them to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.

About the opportunity:

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our existing team in our Wakefield Distribution Centre.

Your key responsibilities will include maintaining high volume picking machinery via planned maintenance schedules, maintain up to date records of all maintenance work and support and manage the activities of any outside contractors whilst on site.

The successful candidate will understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines for Pharmaceutical Distributors and carry out the duties in such a way that they demonstrate compliance. You will have the ability to safely work at height. Although you will not have direct reports, you will mentor and coach junior members of the technical team.
