An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Chef to assist the Head Chef and Second Chef in the kitchen operation and ensure the Colleges outstanding reputation for food quality is always maintained. This is a full time position working 44 weeks per year. Holiday is taken outside of term time and specific courses they run, (Easter/Summer courses). It's paid at an hourly rate inclusive of holiday entitlement.

Holiday is 20 days +8 statutory bank holidays which can be taken in the 3 weeks break at Christmas, 1 week at Easter and 2 weeks at the end of the summer holiday.

The current rota is a 2 week rolling rota.

Week 1

8.00am - 4.30pm Mon-Fri

Week 2

8.00am - 4.30pm Mon-Thurs

8.00am - 2.00pm + 5.00pm - 8.00pm Saturday

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance to sanitation. Hygiene, health and safety legislation and organisational quality requirements
• Help to coordinate food preparation
• Help to prepare and cook food as well as salad prep
• Help with quality management of food
• Help with general cleaning required in the kitchen
• Effective liaison, support and assistance with the organisation
• Assist generally in the kitchen and dining room as directed
• Receive training so you can assist with accurate records, ordering and menu planning as agreed
• Set an example for the catering team of commitment, work ethic and personal character
• Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures
• From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role
• You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with you Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisational generally.
• Working within a small team within a fast-paced and pressurised environment
• Assisting with the preparation of food ensuring they match menu specifications and meet the quality standard and presentation
• Being trained and adhering to Food Safety Standards, maintaining high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times - we expect to maintain a 5* Hygiene rating at all times.

Qualifications

• Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Awareness of manual handling techniques
• Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
• Experience of kitchen equipment, including dangerous equipment such as knives
• Competent level of English spoken and written Knowledge and Experience

The post holder will demonstrate an increasingly higher level of expertise within the specialist service as they progress through their training, therefore becoming more confident and knowledgeable to provide advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers whilst they uphold the Trust values.

The post holder will be practising under an agreed level of autonomy as a trainee advanced practitioner (tEP) within the designated speciality area to provide patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass developing skills such as advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and report construction within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.

· The primary purpose of the role is to carry out specified Ultrasound Guided MSK injection studies in a supervised capacity until signed off for autonomous practice.

· To be able to utilise specialist knowledge of the Ultrasound MSK to undertake injection studies using specialist equipment.

· To be able to demonstrate highly specialist knowledge of pathology of the MSK ultrasound

· Provide high quality, comprehensively written reports.

· Maintain imaging skills and competency in line with clinical expertise and the needs of the service where appropriate.

· Independently prioritise patients and organise the workload from a variety of referral pathways to meet the needs of the service.

· Directly provide practical training, supervision and assessment of under-graduates, postgraduates, and radiology registrars in training.

· To provide specialised imaging, image interpretation, formal reports and advanced decision making in the area of clinical advancement.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is interested in a career within our plaster service. The successful applicant will need to have a good standard of education, excellent interpersonal skills, good manual dexterity and a desire to learn new skills.

Orthopaedic plaster technicians work in the field of Trauma & Orthopaedic Outpatients, Fracture Clinic, Accident & Emergency Departments and Operating Theatres. It is your job to apply casts to patients, at the doctor’s request following an accident, for elective orthopaedic conditions and following surgery. You will be expected to complete the British Orthopaedic Association Casting Course after a minimum of one year working in the plaster service. Following qualification the person will be expected to remain within the department for a minimum of one year.

This is a developmental role and you will join the team as a trainee orthopaedic plaster technician. Following a minimum of one year working and learning within the plaster room you will be required to complete the British Casting Certificate (BCC). This certificate is validated by the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) and the Association of Orthopaedic Practitioners UK (AOP UK) and is supported by the Society of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing (SOTN) of the Royal College of Nursing. Once the qualification is completed successfully you will receive 60 credits either at Diploma Level 8 SCQF equivalent to Level 5 NQF, or Degree Level 9 SCQF equivalent to Level 6 NQF. The course/examination will be undertaken on a 5-week residential course held at Stanmore Orthopaedic Hospital, London. Completion of the qualification will enable you to work in the plaster service as a Band 4 Junior Qualified Orthopaedic Plaster Technician.

The qualified Orthopaedic Plaster Technician is a vital member of the healthcare team providing a service not just in Orthopaedics and Trauma but also Trust-wide across many different specialties. In a similar way to Orthotists and Physiotherapists, they interpret prescriptions from a wider multidisciplinary team, being able to discuss issues of care with other relevant Healthcare Professionals.

RPS are seeking additional Leakage Field Technicians for our South-East Water contract, covering the Basingstoke, Sussex and Kent area to detect, locate and report both visible and hidden leaks from the trunk main and distribution network. This is truly a great opportunity for an individual to develop their skills and experience with one of the UK’s leading Environmental Consultancies. This is a full time (40 hrs pw) permanent contract and is paying real living wage.

What you’ll be doing

You will be working outside, using both traditional and electronic leak detection equipment to locate water main fittings & taking noise samples using electronic leak detection equipment (for which full training will be provided).

Who we’re looking for?

You will enjoy working outdoors, as most of your work is conducted outside (rain or shine)
A good standard of basic maths and English
Basic IT skills
Willing to work nights, weekends and overtime as required
Have good hearing
Good communication skills
Happy working alone and as part of a team
Full UK or Irish driving licence
