Our client a leading Oil & Gas operator are seeking a Metering Technical Advisor for a long-term contract role based in Aberdeen.

Position Overview

Leadership, delivery and technical support to all aspects of Metering across the business. A key aspect of this role is coordination and support to the site and offshore metering, production and maintenance personnel.

Accountabilities
• Fiscal, allocation and environmental metering systems are installed, maintained and operated safely and efficiently to the standards required to satisfy all stakeholders
• Timely and accurate metering and measurement, appropriate to the business and regulatory requirements
• Technical ownership of metering contracts
• Metering Technical expert matter
• Maintain a firm understanding of the threat Cyber Attacks pose in both regular IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology / industrial automation) environments and the potential consequences of such attacks.

Key Duties

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the metering infrastructure across all assets
• Lead, advise, support and collaborate effectively with the onshore and offshore metering teams
• Provide effective operational support to Production and Maintenance departments
• Provide assurance on technical content of metering related PMR strategies and monitors PMR and NR compliance
• Ensure all field and test equipment remains within certification
• Identify/oversee mismeasurements, site dispensation, audit tracker, site action and environmental status trackers
• Review and approve metering manuals and procedures, based on currency, efficiency and effectiveness
• Represent the business during internal, regulatory and third party audits
• Manage relationships with OGA Petroleum Measurement and Allocation department
• Ensure dispensation requests are raised with the appropriate pipeline operator and Regulator
• Input to and raise relevant AFAs and timely purchase, repair, calibration and recertification of field and test equipment
• Identify and propose improvements to business practices, within area of expertise and authority.

Education Attainment & Accreditation
• Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant discipline and/or considerable technical experience in a similar role.

Professional Skills & Experience

Robust technical understanding of regulations, codes, standards, guidelines and good practice for the UKCS oil and gas industry, relevant to role
• Sound understanding of hydrocarbon accounting and metering methods, procedures, industry technology trends, developments and challenges, including multi-phase metering
