About The Role:

The company are seeking a Design & Development Engineer to join their team, to work as part of the Engineering team to develop steering systems to meet customer driven requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a design engineering environment.

Role Duties & Requirements:

• Design and amend steering systems and components using 3D modelling software, predominately SolidWorks, for a range of different vehicle manufacturers and applications: Bus, Truck, Coach and Military.
• Create detailed comprehensive models and drawings suitable for manufacturing and assembly. This will include all required specifications, material selection, geometric tolerancing, surface treatments, etc.
• Knowledge and use of FEA to influence the design and understanding of components/assemblies.
• Liaise directly with customers/ suppliers and internal departments (including Manufacturing) on a technical/design responsible level.
• Experience of testing and validation, including set up and running of sample tests, technical report writing, interpreting results and subsequent decision-making activities.
• Able to carry out ‘hand’ calculations to evaluate loads/forces/torque etc to establish component parameters, requirements. Material suitability.
• Knowledge and use of FMEA’s, APQP, 8D problem solving techniques.
• Involvement with project management and advanced planning for production. Design reviews with multifunctional team members.
• Understanding of Project costing and justification – quotations, project cost estimates.
• Create a Bill of Manufacture via ERP systems.
• Knowledge of electronics, programming and control systems would be an advantage.
• Propose and implement continual improvement, VA/VE activities and projects to reduce cost, weight and non-value-added time within designs and processes.
• Qualified to at least HND or Degree level in an area of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Fully conversant with SolidWorks CAD Software (although experience on other systems will be considered and training provided).
• Understanding of the product realisation and change control elements of the IATF-16949 business management system.
• Full driving licence.
• Some travel maybe required to discuss projects, which may include foreign travel.

About the team

This role sits within the Standards for Design, Development and Evaluation of General Qualifications (DDEGQ) team in the General Qualifications Directorate. The DDEGQ team focuses on subject-specific policy and assessment considerations for general qualifications such as GCSEs, AS and A levels. This involves establishing rules about how specific qualifications should be assessed, and reviewing proposed or existing assessment approaches. The team plays an important role in Ofqual’s work to make sure that regulated qualifications and their assessments deliver quality and fairness for students.

What will the post holder be doing?

This Senior Officer will support the team by carrying out a range of activities, including reviewing qualification specifications and assessment arrangements. They will be expected to engage with existing and proposed regulatory requirements and qualifications. They will organise and take part in discussions with internal and external stakeholders, such as teachers, subject and teacher associations, exam boards and the Department for Education. You will be working within Core Coventry RISE Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health services as an Art Therapist. In this role you will be working will providingspecialist Art Therapy assessment and interventions as part of the psychological services provision. Main Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an Electrical / Mechanical Design Engineer to join our small Engineering team. You will be responsible for
designing and producing electrical schematics and mechanical equipment layouts for control and distribution panels through to

Main Responsibilities:

* To design and produce electrical schematics and mechanical layout details for control and distribution panels.
* Produce mechanical steelwork fabrication designs.
* Provide technical support for operational employees and external customers
* Project Management of each job – design, technical, purchasing, quality, after care support and testing
* Apply knowledge, skill and experience to design and implementation of new innovative solutions

Reed in Partnership is a public service provider delivering a range of services that transform people and their communities. These services are delivered across our Assessment, Employability, Wellbeing, Citizen Services and Environment divisions.

Our Reed Assessment division, a national provider of trusted and secure testing and assessments, is planning for the significant expansion of its testing operations during 2024. We are currently bidding for the delivery, on behalf of the Standards and Testing Agency (STA), of Key Stage 1 & 2 testing to all Primary School students in England. Securing this multi-million pound contract would see Reed Assessment responsible, directly and through its supply chain partners, for the production, distribution, marking and moderating of all key stage tests across Primary Schools.

We are now looking to build an experienced implementation and delivery team ready to successfully mobilise this contract from April 2024. Please note this is a Fixed term contract for 18.5 months starting in April 2024.

Please note, expensed travel including potential overnight stays will be expected at key points of the implementation cycle, the frequency of which will vary.

What is the role about?

The Service Design Lead will take a leading role in ensuring that Reed in Partnership’s company standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of Implementation. The Service Design Lead is responsible for leading on the service design elements of Implementation from contract award to contract commencement. You will lead on the day-to-day ‘Service Design’ workstream during the mobilisation of the contract and will have full responsibility for this element of Implementation. The Service Design Lead will directly manage a Service Design Executive, working alongside other key internal and external stakeholders to ensure we have a full-service solution for the contract.

As Service Design Lead, you will manage and be part of an expert team which take the lead on these activities. It is a varied role which will encompass the responsibility of leading and managing a team with focus on Service design activities to successfully deliver on our commitments. When required you may also lead contact with the commissioner and other external stakeholders throughout the implementation.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include;

• Taking a lead on identification of training requirements for the contract, ensuring the creation of documentation and delivery key training materials to new starters and existing staff

• Designing operational guidance and process materials, and developing additional operational assets and tools where required.
