We are looking for Band 6 Qualified Paramedics to join our courses in 2024 from our Education Centres in Bicester, Newbury and Whiteley.
Following the training period, you will be based specifically from the following stations:
North North- Stoke Mandeville, Milton Keynes
North East– High Wycombe, Wexham
North South – Reading, Bracknell, Newbury
South North– Andover, Alton
South East– North Harbour
If your confirmed station is at Wexham or Bracknell, you will also receive5% High Cost Allowance (Fringe).
Whilst we will endeavour to place you at your preferred station, location is subject to vacancies being available and the needs of the service at that time.
We are looking for applicants that are:

All you need is:
• To be an existing Band 6 Qualified Paramedic with current HCPC registration. If you registered as a Paramedic with HCPC after September 2016, you must have continued to practice operationally and be able to provide evidence that you have completed the 2 year NHS NQP Consolidation of Learning programme. This evidence will be requested during the recruitment process should your application be successful.
• Have a full valid UK manual driving licence (including Category B and Category C1 – over 3500kg with no more than 3 points. The Trust motor insurers would not entertain inclusion of any applicants who had had their driving licence removed following a Dangerous Driving or Drink or Drugs offence for a minimum period of 5 years from when their licence is reinstated. Each case would need to be passed to Trust brokers / insurers in order for the individual circumstances to be taken into account.
• Have a Trust approved emergency driving qualification, IHCD, D1, D2 qualification or Future Quals.
• Able to commit to a 5 day (full-time) and upto 3 day driving training course programme (paid) and on-going shift work.

The finer details:
• The 5-day clinical training programme is not residential so you will need to be able to get to our Education Centre in Newbury, Whiteley or Bicester on your own and at your own cost. Please note training is Monday - Friday during the day and you will need to commit to the full course.
• If your application demonstrates that you are what we are looking for, then you will be invited to an online interview which will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. A fitness assessment will also be required and will take place from one of our Education Centres in either Bicester, Newbury or Whiteley. Further details will be confirmed to you following shortlisting.
• All successful candidates who are offered a job with us will have to undertake employment checks as part of our recruitment process, including, an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) check, which SCAS will fund, clearance from our Occupational Health department, references, ID and right to work verification.
