Finance Assistant - Bridgend, South Wales - Manufacturing - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract- £31,000 DOE.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a world leading Manufacturing company based in their Bridgend office.

Role Responsibilities:

• Accounts receivable transaction processing including customer invoices, credit notes, cash receipts and adjustments.
• Distribution of customer financial documentation to the appropriate party including customer invoices, credit notes, statements, and other required information.
• Completes transactions in respect of daily cash deposits through completion of the daily cashbook, and cash allocation.
• Update daily cash activities and reconcile to bank records.
• Maintain SharePoint workflows to ensure timely invoice approvals.
• Assist the Controller with the compilation of weekly cash balances and monthly cash forecasts and the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, month end schedules and analysis.
• Assist with statistical analyses to help determine trends, estimates and significant changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller to support the department.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 3+ year's experience of working in a Finance Function is preferred
• AAT or equivalent would be an advantage
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Integrated Accounting Software (Oracle/SAP experience preferred)
• Experience in both account receivable and general ledger activities
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

This is an opportunity for you to enhance the delivery of our financial assessments service in an organisation that will value your contribution and encourage you to develop your existing skills.

You will play a key role in accurately and efficiently dealing with enquiries and the financial assessment of service users contribution towards the cost of their care, the collection of these charges and any associated debt recovery. You will need to be able to work under pressure in a busy and changing office environment.

For this post you must be committed to a high level of customer service and will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with people from all backgrounds. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential. Hays are recruiting for a market leading manufacturing business in the Bridgend area. We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant/Finance Analyst to join them on a Fixed Term basis for a year, maybe longer. Reporting into the Finance Business Partner of the organisation the main duties of the role will be in supporting the FBP to achieve the objectives of the business and to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.

You will be responsible for issuing weekly and monthly production KPI reports while measuring and reporting of all labour metrics to ensure direct labour costs to the business are minimised. The successful candidate will also control overhead expenditure for the cost centres, including approval of spend, trend /variance analysis and forecasting/budgeting.

Main responsibilities/job accountabilities

• Responsible for the preparation and review of operational overheads
• Purchase order approval to ensure accurate nominal ledger coding
• Month end cost centre reports to be completed in line with month end timetable and reviewed with the FBP

Responsible for budget and forecasting processes for all production cost centres and direct labour

• Maintain and analyse labour KPI's to drive business improvement e.g. efficiencies, labour rates, overtime, non-productive hours analysis
• Distribute weekly / monthly labour metrics and review with production
• Responsible for the completion of the weekly dashboard for review
• Maintain accurate fixed asset register in terms of additions, disposals, asset commissioning and de-commissioning
• Carry out Ad-hoc tasks required to support the business
• Provide holiday and sickness cover for Finance team members

The ideal candidate will be ACCA / CIMA part qualified or qualified but strong QBEs will also be considered. You will possess a good understanding of financial processes, and be able to analyse and interpret data whilst carrying out continuous improvement.
You will have prior knowledge of some of the following if possible - Fixed Assets, Labour reporting, budgeting and forecasting and will be a good team player who is able to communicate well at all levels. You will also have advanced Excel and IT Skills - ideally an ERP system such as Oracle, SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
