• 2-3-month interim finance manager role
• Central Bristol
• 1 stage interview process - to start as soon as possible.
• Responsibilities include monthly financial reporting, monitoring of programme and project contracts, supporting the annual external audit, management of tenancy contracts and group VAT returns. Line management of two staff members in the team, and support for the day-to-day running of the department.
• The post holder co-ordinates with the programme and projects team to monitor and record project activity to ensure accurate accounting for all programme activity and funds.

• This post is a member of the Strategic Management Team sharing responsibility for business planning and performance.
  
  Main responsibilities
  
• Prepare monthly company and group management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Finance Director prior to distribution to the Executive, Senior Management Team and Finance Sub Committee of the Board.
• Prepare financial reporting of project and programme grants, including quarterly reporting (as required by the programme funders) and regular review meetings with project managers.

• Manage rent and service charges from leasehold tenants to include effective monitoring of service charges expenditure against budget and preparation and distribution of year-end service charge accounts.
• Review payroll reports supplied by an external payroll provider, including journal postings, completion of reconciliations and preparation of payments to HMRC, and calculation of holiday pay accruals.
• Maintain an overview of cash-flow, ensuring that any potential issues are identified in advance.
• Control and review all debtors and creditors with the Finance Director to maintain the working capital requirements of the entities.
• Produce the quarterly VAT return for the companies and file the group VAT return ensuring that the correct VAT status is applied to all income and activities are accurately classified as business/non-business as appropriate.
• Prepare year-end management accounts for all entities, including the preparation of year-end files in preparation for the annual external audit.
• Prepare and input into the draft annual budget and financial plan in close co-ordination with the Finance Director, including modelling all planned annual income across the entities, planned department and project expenditure, annual staff and employment costs. Support the Finance Director with review meetings with each department head in planning the annual budget and in review meetings with the Exec, SMT and Finance Sub Committee and or Board.
• Prepare and input into the 6 and 9-month forecasts for the year-end out-turn in close co-ordination with the Finance Director, as above, including accurate records of all amendments or changes to planned or deferred income and expenditure, so there is a clear-agreed record for monthly variance reporting.
• Assistance in process improvements and the development of month-end close and external reporting timetables.
• Ongoing development of a monthly reporting pack to include variance reporting against budget and KPIs as appropriate.
• Maintain fixed asset registers; to include the calculation of annual depreciation charges and the annual transfer of unrestricted funds to match the corresponding expenditure.
• Provide assistance to the Finance Director in consolidated cash-flow reporting, annual budget setting and re-forecasting, and other ad hoc project support as required.
• Prepare and record grant and freelancer contracts as required.
• Support the Finance Director to fulfil the requirements of the external audit fieldwork and supplementary information.
• Line management of the Assistant Management Accountant and Finance Assistants with support from the Finance Director, supporting the day-to-day function of the Finance department (including payroll, supplier payment processing, sales invoicing). Background

Ideally you'll come from a software engineering or telemetry background and have now moved into an SRE role.

Technical Skills

• Experience working with a broad set of GCP products (or extensive experience with another Public Cloud platform, such as Azure or AWS) and Cloud security and networking;

• Hands-on working experience of building and administering Kubernetes clusters in a production environment and experience in automating/scripting to remove toil;

• Ability to quickly understand, update and write code in languages such as Python, Java, Golang BASH and PowerShell;

• Working experience monitoring SLO's, SLI's and SLAs and logging updates and alerting where appropriate;

• Strong DevOps understanding and familiarity, including experience of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines, such as Terraform and Jenkins, or alternatives such as Azure DevOps;

Behavioural Skills

• Mentoring other engineers in SRE best practices;

• Experience in problem-solving, able to demonstrate logical thinking and excellent troubleshooting skills;

• Strong understanding of the software engineering life cycle and able to work collaboratively as part of an engineering team;

And any experience of these would be really useful

• Be proficient in the following tooling - Dynatrace, Stackdriver/Cloud Operations Suite, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud logging, Cloud Consumption and RTL viewer

As an extension of the finance team, this role will work with senior stakeholders and change professionals to ensure processes are effectively planned, implemented and embraced by the business.

Your new role
This is a key role in ensuring any change is effectively planned, implemented and embraced across the organisation. This will include:

• Work with both finance and change teams to ensure activities are fully aligned to business goals and objects and have clearly defined outcomes.
• Create and implement change plans in support of projects, taking into account people, processes and systems from start to finish.
• Ensure everything is effectively communicated with an explanation
• Conduct change impact assessments on how the change will impact different aspects of the organisation
• Work with L&D to assess skills gas
• Manage senior stakeholders effectively communicating key milestones of the project

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for someone who has experience in technology-led change, ideally within a finance team. They are implementing Oracle Fusion, so systems experience would be a preference. You should have good expertise in change management and be able to clearly communicate and empathise with teams affected by change. This sits within the finance team, so an understanding of finance processes would be ideal.

Cathedral Schools Trust are looking for a highly organised person to work with both the finance and estates team within the central services team. We’re looking for a Financial Assistant for our busy hotel & spa.

As Finance Assistant, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will have a head for figures and enjoy a fast-paced environment.

Your day to day;

• Working closely with the Finance team at Head Office to ensure accuracy of management accounts providing journal adjustments as necessary
• You will be responsible for the numerical docket control system, all cash and credit card reconciliations as well as raising purchase orders and checking online invoices against the procurement system

Who are we looking for?

As the Finance Assistant you will report to the Hotel General Manager supporting in all areas of commercial/financial development. You will need to be confident enough to communicate at this level and challenge when necessary.

Previous experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role within the Hospitality Industry would be advantageous.

A keen eye for detail is essential using a right first-time approach to deliver clear and accurate reports.
