What does a live-in carer do?
As a professional live-in carer in the South West of England, you’ll provide personalised care that enables clients to stay in their own homes. We offer flexible rota patterns to help you balance work and personal life, and we welcome carers with at least six months of professional experience. You’ll stay with your client during your chosen rota pattern, caring for one person (or sometimes a couple) and following a tailored care plan. We are running our 16th cohort of Trainee Nursing Associate Apprentices, working in partnership The University of Cumbria.

This post is an apprenticeship post commencing on the March 2025 cohort which will see you develop to a NMC registered Nursing Associate, completing a 2 year foundation degree training programme. The course is fully funded.

Internal candidates,will be on a 2 year Trust Secondment contract
External Candidateswill be a 2 year fixed term contract.

This post is specifically for the South Lakes Home Based Treatment Team, Garburn House, Westmorland Hospital, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 7RG

As a trainee you will be based within clinical practice for the duration of the programme and will have study leave to attend University. You will rotate through different services within your speciality / service area (where applicable) and undertake block placements outside of your normal place of work, to gain a breadth of experience and skills.

Some travel is required so you must either be a car driver or be prepared to access public transport when on placement. You could be expected to travel up to 90 minutes each way to placement and work shifts and weekends.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of healthcare and the role of a Nursing Associate and show evidence of being an effective communicator with the people you care for, their families and carers, as well as your colleagues and superiors.

You will need to be prepared to work hard and undertake study in your own time, while on the programme; learning the fundamentals of exceptional care and developing your depth of knowledge around important aspects of both physical and mental health. In addition you will be taught many clinical skills which will be required when you become a registered Nursing Associate.

Role: Adult Support Worker

Location: Lindale, Grange over Sands

Salary: Up to £28,908.36 per annum (sleep-in shifts paid extra) plus £2000 Welcome Bonus*

Hours: Full Time, Permanent (43.5 hours per week, 12 hour days on a 2 week rolling rota)

A typical shift pattern would be on a 2 week rotation – e.g. week 1 Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun and week 2 Weds, Thur, Fri.

Essential: A Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle - we need this because our young people and adults often have days out and so will need your help getting around to ensure they can enjoy these fulfilling days out!

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Officer to join a team supporting vulnerable asylum seekers in Carlisle. As a Housing Officer, you will ensure a high standard of accommodation and compliance with the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC), focusing on the safety and well-being of service users across Carlisle.
THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct monthly inspections of properties to ensure safety and compliance.
• Oversee onboarding and withdrawal of properties as per Local Operating Procedures.
• Identify and report property faults, categorizing them for prompt response.
• Undertake minor property repairs within trained scope and provided toolkit.
• Administer operational cash for utility top-ups and emergency payments.
• Manage customer complaints and support issue resolution.
• Participate in the on-call rota to ensure 24/7 service availability.

THE CANDIDATE
Candidates should ideally have experience in a property-related role, though a strong commitment to supporting asylum seekers and excellent communication skills are more important. You should also bring:

• A solid background in face-to-face roles with strong people skills.
• Confidence in conflict management and resolution.
• Strong organizational abilities to handle a demanding workload.
• A valid UK driving licence, with willingness to travel between properties.
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
