We are currently looking to recruit a keen, enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Support Worker to join our Cambridge Community Adult Eating Disorder service, based within the grounds of Addenbrookes Hospital, in the vibrant University City of Cambridge.

It is a very exciting time to join our services, with plans in place to develop our excellent staff team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in our pathways and medical monitoring service for those suffering from eating disorders.

You may be required to undertake and successfully complete the new national Care Certificate within a 12 weeks’ timeframe if you meet our criteria. You will receive full training and support and The Care Certificate sets out 15 national care standards that must be achieved by all health and social care staff to demonstrate that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide safe and excellent quality of care. It is a foundation programme which can provide the first steps to career development within the NHS.

To offer Intensive community support and/or medical monitoring to the Adult Eating Disorders Service users in the community. Support may include physical health checks, motivational work and meal planning. All support is to be delivered in a sensitive and motivational manner. These services are delivered across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough both in clinics and patients homes dependent on the intervention.

There will be the opportunity to develop in your role, enabling you to practice a range of core physical health skills and a good knowledge of eating disorders. Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings to promote the use of self-directed recovery tools. Attend clinical review meetings to feedback progress on recovery goals. To raise awareness of recovery language with Trust staff by modelling positive strengths based, non-discriminatory, non-jargon, non-medicalised language in all areas of work. Support other members of the multi-disciplinary team in promoting a recovery orientated environment and in identifying recovery focused activities imparting information/ education as required. Abide by the PSW Code of Conduct, so that the central focus of your work to inspire recovery is not compromised in any way.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience of managing a team within a supported housing environment with a vulnerable and diverse group of customers
• Experience of working in challenging environments with the ability to plan, prioritise, organise tasks to achieve results
• Ability to listen and communicate clearly, encourage feedback and reflection, empower, motivate and gain improvements
• Have conflict resolution skills and be confident and consistent when making decisions
• Experience of reviewing, monitoring and evaluating outcomes in the delivery of support services
• Competent IT skills, including using databases, producing reports and other communications, and analysing key outcomes data to understand and drive service improvements
