The role
As a Maintenance Support Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll support the nuclear submarine program.

Day to day, you'll be focused on ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance, upgrade and repair activities through the Nuclear Facilities maintenance planning cycle.

• Arrange and coordinate the readiness activities that enable the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance.
• Work with the Planning Engineers and using the 16 week look ahead, safely and efficiently plan and enable maintenance activities.
• Support reactive, unplanned maintenance and repair activities and be prepared to lead on the required actions or actively support them.
• Arrange and coordinate the readiness activities that enable the movement of assets across the nuclear site (mobile active jet vacs, portable effluent tanks, etc)
• Produce documents such as a scope of requirements to tender maintenance activities to external suppliers/contractors and act as a Technical Representative for Nuclear Facilities on site.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Maintenance Support Engineer

• Relevant experience within the Engineering Industry. Operations and Maintenance / Nuclear environment is desirable.
• Knowledge/understanding of Dockside Services / Facilities.
• Proficient in the application of Project Management Tools and how they are utilised throughout the Project Lifecycle.
• User/Familiar with Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Word, Excel and Visio.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Support Engineer

• Minimum Level 3 in Engineering Field or equivalent technical experience (evidence to be provided)
• APM Project Fundamentals - Desirable.
• Health and Safety Management of Sub-Contractors - Desirable.
• IOSH Managing Safely - Desirable.

• Contribute to the continuous development of the team by acting as a mentor and coach for Junior Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices.

This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Principal Electrical Engineer - C&I:

• Significant knowledge of electrical C&I engineering.
• Understanding of both hardware and software-based systems.
• Functional Safety IEC 61508 / 61511.
• Machinery Safety IEC IEC13849.
• Working in the Nuclear Industry or highly regulated environment.

Qualifications for the Principal Electrical Engineer - C&I:

• Degree in an appropriate electrical engineering discipline
• Professional registration with an engineering body is desirable.
• It would be an advantage to be trained in IOSH Managing Safely.

The role
As a Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Acting as a senior manager within the Plant Operations and Maintenance teams, you will be deputising for Nuclear Operations and Maintenance Manager (NOMM).

Day to day, you'll have indirect responsibility in supporting the Plant Operations & Maintenance Manager's and the Facilities Operations Manager's reports.

• Developing and implementing suitable processes and training to ensure compliance with related IOIs at all times and to ensure all persons involved with operations controlled within the NOMM's sphere of influence are competent and trained to do so
• To assist the SRC Authorisation Group by providing professional advice on the facility plant and systems (including writing reports and verification of documents).
• Acting as the direct line manager of the Lock Out Tag Out Team for safety isolations, ensuring statement of conformance conditions are met, and ASQEP responsibilities are accepted and governed on behalf of the NOMM
• To document, in appropriate procedures, activities carried out by the department; and to support other company procedures as necessary to ensure compliance with their statutory and contractual requirements relevant to nuclear related activities.

• Experience in maintaining and operating nuclear plant and facilities
• Knowledge/experience of the Site Licence Conditions/Authorisation Conditions (LC/AC) 10 and 12
• Demonstrable experience with the in-depth knowledge required to Lead the site operational control team and activity for the plant maintenance function
• Previous experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities, documentation control, work order and contractor control and progress and performance

Qualifications for the Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager:

• NUC0793 Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1
• NUC0794 Nuclear Fundamental Course Module 2
• QUAL002 Submarine Quality Assurance Course
• NVQ Level 6 in an engineering discipline or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
