We are looking for a professional and experienced Electrician working in a fast-paced environment and high ambitions to join the team.

Due to a continued growth in workload, we require several qualified and experienced Testing and Remedial Electricians

Job Duties

• Good sound electrical knowledge. Able to complete EICR's in commercial/Industrial properties
• Extensive knowledge of single and three-phase fault finding and 1st time fixes.
• To conduct electrical repairs / minor works.
• To liaise with the helpdesk for planned and routine maintenance programmes and reporting procedures.
• To work to recognised industry standards at all times.
• To maintain records of all work, and that required paperwork is completed and sent in within the defined timescales.
• To undertake training as required to perform the duties of the role, including health and safety courses and further trade development to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications (Continued Professional Development).
• Ability to act on own initiative.
• Able to pass enhanced DBS disclosure
• Full driving clean licence required (Minor offences / points may be considered).
• Own hand tools required, A van for business use, Tablet device and uniform will be supplied as will any specialist / test equipment.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Must have previous experience working independently and within a team in the building services engineering industry.
• Ideally be ECS JIB registered
• C&G 2391 OR C&G 2394 & 2395 OR EAL 2625 (inspection and testing)- Candidates will be considered without this if they willing to do it and fund it themselves in the first 6 months
• C&G 2382 (18th edition regulations)- 17th will be considered if candidates commit to doing the 18th in the next three months
• C&G 2360 part 1 and 2 OR C&G 2330 level 2 and 3 OR C&G 2365 level 2 and 3 (electrical theory)C&G 2356 NVQ level 3 OR C&G 2346 NVQ level 3 OR C&G 2357 NVQ level 3 (portfolio/experienced worker assessment).AM2 (practical skills test)

• Very little working away from home and hotels are kept to a minimum due to costs

Have you considered pursuing a career in Surgery with a specialist interest in Medical Education, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level?

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join the Medical Education Team at Peterborough City Hospital on a full-time fixed term basis from August 2024 for a period of 12 months.

At North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, we are providing undergraduate clinical teaching to medical students from the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and the University of Leicester School of Medicine.

You will be involved in coordinating and delivering the Trust’s undergraduate clinical teaching programme and will undertake five sessions of clinical duties and professional development.

Teaching is provided in a variety of clinical settings, and you will be expected to spend approximately five sessions per week teaching undergraduate medical students as well as participate in the student induction and assessment sessions.

You will have completed a minimum of Foundation Training or equivalent. MRCS is desirable but not essential.

The main educational duties will be delivering structured clinical teaching sessions, including bedside teaching, seminars, and teaching clinics, as well as running formative exams including OSCE examinations. This will include three Saturday mornings per year for student assessments with time off in lieu. We encourage postgraduate study and support engagement in educational research.

There will be five fixed educational sessions per week which will include preparation/administration and personal development time as well as formal face-to-face teaching sessions.

The remaining five sessions will be clinical and delivered within the Division of Surgery. Specialist clinics and skills training can be arranged according to career interest.

When leave is taken during a student placement block a prospective cover will have to be agreed by the Medical Education Department.

There are no on-call commitments to the post. Locum opportunities are commonly available but can only be taken up as long as they do not impact on the educational service delivery.
