We are currently seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) engineering technician to work out of our Swindon Sewage treatment works as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

As the successful candidate, your role will be to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and associated (Programmable Logic Controllers), instrumentation, control and automation equipment in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision.

All Tools, PPE and Van will be provided.

What you’ll be doing as The ICA Technician

- Carrying out planned maintenance (PPM) which includes some mandatory tickets and some reactive maintenance on defective equipment.
- Installing, modifying, and commissioning new plant equipment to relevant standards, and diagnosing and repairing faults on systems and plants. Proactively identifying and reporting follow-up work or areas for enhancement and delivering cost-effective improvements to assets and systems.
- Investigation into plant failures and the implementation of subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- You will be responsible for providing specialist technical advice where appropriate with up-to-date technical knowledge.
- Base Location: Swindon - SN2 2DJ Due to the nature of the role you will be expected to travel to other sites in the surrounding area.
- Working Pattern 38 Hours Monday- Friday 7:30 am – 15:36pm plus Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

What you should bring to the role

- A good, practical understanding of operational plant and control systems is essential.
- An understanding of Wonderware and ClearSCADA is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience working with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Alan Bradley) which will include management and programming.
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and fault find from circuit diagrams as well as have previous experience with inverter drives.
- Examples of some instrumentation you could be working on are flow meters, pressure levels, ultrasonic and telemetry.
- We are looking for someone with experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
- Ideally you will be qualified to HNC level or otherwise will have City and Guilds Part 2 or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical subject.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes is desirable.
- The work will require physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training; as well as the flexibility to work on an out-of-hours rota when necessary.
- We are looking for a self-motivated team player who is comfortable also with working and who possesses excellent time-management skills.

Overview

The Security Governance, Risk & Compliance capability is required to deliver OpNET security risk management, implement security control measures, and documented evidence to meet OpNET assurance and compliance requirements as set by the MOD. Specifically, this means producing documentation and evidence to support:

* Cyber Defence and risk (CyDR) Secure by Design (SbD) iaw JSP 440.
* Network Operating Authority (NOA) JSP 604 Rules:
* Rule 10 - Information based capabilities shall be assured in accordance with current policy in JSP 440 Part 2 Leaflet 5C.
* Rule 11 - Defensive cyber operations assurance and cyber network defence compliance.
* Rule 16 - ICT capabilities and services shall be designed to provide a high-quality product.

Within existing NSoIT(D) governance and management structures, and following extant OpNET processes and ways of working, the following are to be delivered:

* Subject matter expertise, advice and guidance on security matters relating to CyDR Secure by Design (SbD )of MoD systems to the DC2E/SERAPHIM project staff.
* Security awareness material, briefings and Security Operating Procedures (SyOPs) as required to system users and maintainers.

• Monitor and verify critical control points to ensure that food is managed safely as it moves into the factory
• Complete daily checks on utensils and equipment
• Carry out daily spot checks throughout every department within the factory to ensure that standards and processes are maintained
• Verify that all factory paperwork has been completed correctly
• Working with the production team to ensure that goods are placed into the blast freezers within the appropriate timeframe
• Recording and reporting any issues found while completing checks.

This role requires a can-do attitude, the ability to undertake a variety of tasks, and a willing approach to learn.
Training will be given.
You must be able to communicate clearly both written and verbally.

THE ROLE:

• Incoming component inspection and reporting. Using all relevant equipment to complete tasks.
• Raising and closing off non-conformance reports.
• Sample inspection and reporting.
• Working with suppliers to understand relevant processes.
• Process Production returns to supplier.
• Update component information on the ERP system.
• Raise ECNs (engineering change notices) for processing where necessary.
• Fault finding with Production team when product issue arises.

THE PERSON:

• HNC or HND in relevant discipline (ideally)
• Experienced in dealing with Suppliers.
• Experience in similar role - inspecting parts and raising NCR's.

This is an exciting time at Bloor Homes! We are currently expanding and are recruiting a further Group Quality Manager to join our team at Head Office.

Working with key partners across the business, you will have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal - and proven experience within the House Building/Construction industry. Working closely with the Group Quality Director and Senior Managers, you will identify approaches and methods to improve overall quality whilst monitoring construction performance and compliance with design on site.

This role requires frequent travel as you will be responsible for our regional areas in the South and South West covering sites around Exeter, Swindon and Newbury.

We are looking for someone who has a good eye for detail, is inquisitive and provides solutions! You will be driven by quality, well organised and tenacious.

Main Duties;

Bloor Quality Audits of both work in progress and completed properties.
Promote effective procedures for managing quality and resolution of items raised to allow production to complete all works within program timescales.
Monitor overall construction performance with regard to technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements.
Identify, record and follow up on any remediation requiring immediate action on site.
Work with Group Quality Director and senior managers to identify approaches and methods to improve overall quality.
Assist with the ongoing maintenance and development of “The Bloor Standard” document.
Identify areas within the design that requires additional information to assist the site teams and avoid inconsistency and commercial issues.
To perform defect investigations as and when problems arise (including customer complaints where applicable).
Educate employees and trade people on the required standards by delivering In-House training and toolbox talks to construction teams on issues associated with build quality.
Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
Complying with and upholding legislation and company policy and procedures.
Undertaking any additional tasks as my reasonably be required from time to time.


Essential Skills/Attributes:

Proven experience within the House Building/Construction Industry.
Working at or towards NVQ Level 6 Construction Management
Detailed knowledge of the Building Regulations, house building standards (NHBC, LABC) and latent defect warranty schemes.
Worked as or experienced working with Building Inspectors.
Commercial awareness.
IT Literate.
Inquisitive and problem solving skills.
Driven by quality and helping others build the best possible homes.
Good communicator, insightful and persuasive.
Be comfortable speaking in front of groups and having difficult conversations when required.
Well organised and able to work alone and as a team.
Willing to travel, sometimes at short notice.
Be able to accommodate overnight stays.
