Key responsibilities

• Physically setup and maintain complex multi-rack emulator.
• Install and maintain the appropriate BIOS, device drivers, firmware OS and applications on R&D IT Lab and platform emulator infrastructure.
• Execute tests to validate the emulator against a set of specifications.
• Review, replicate, and respond to internal/external customer issues. Perform initial analysis of error logs.
• Develop silicon and system stress tests. Leverage tests developed by other engineers. Package tests for production and field use.

Required Education and Experience

• Proficient in Linux shell script and good knowledge of Python (or any other computer language).
• In-depth knowledge of Linux, IB and Ethernet network and storage administration.
• Prior Experience in administrating hardware emulator would be ideal.
• Hands-on troubleshooting including performance, electrical, system, network, storage, mechanical troubleshooting skills are a must.
• Good knowledge of system performance, security and open source software packages.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated and must be able to work with different teams in different time zones.

The annual salary range for California is $108,500 to $201,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. About You and This Role:

Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Research & Development (R&D) Technician in the Reaction Engineering discipline within Core R&D Engineering and Process Science in Freeport, Texas

The Reaction Engineering lab conducts experimental research using automated tubular, fixed bed, and stirred tank systems equipped with various analytical techniques from on-line gas chromatography, in situ Raman and FTIR to heat flow calorimetry. Partnerships with Business R&D and manufacturing provide a consistent flow of new challenging projects across an array of process technologies.
This role is in the Lake Jackson Texas Innovation Center, E.C. Britton building and you will partner with Reaction Engineers and the leadership applying exceptional mechanical skills to conduct research with variety of reactor systems. You will be a self-starter with attention to detail and is eager to learn new areas of laboratory reactors and analytical equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Works as part of a team in a laboratory supporting engineers in developing, screening and commercializing new processes. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage timelines, and interact effectively with numerous team members of diverse background is critical.
• Manages and then safely executes laboratory work requests, building, maintaining, operating and troubleshooting relevant laboratory apparatus and testing equipment and documenting data in Electronic Lab Notebook.
• Develops experimental plans for review/approval by project leader and executes approved plans by performing routine and non-standard tasks or procedures of higher complexity.
•  Achieves project goals using technical, role-specific skills and experience, and introduces new procedures for new instrument methods, equipment changes, or new equipment.
• Develops a specific expertise within the department and laboratory work group in specific procedures, equipment, or instruments.

Required Qualifications:  

• An Associate Degree or higher in Engineering and/or Science related field is required.
• In lieu of an associate degree or higher, Dow Chemical will consider those with four (4) + years of relevant military experience and a High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with chemical/material laboratory or process operations

The Clinical Research Analyst is responsible for reviewing clinical topics, providing insights towards clinical projects and marketing / commercialization opportunities which should be undertaken across AM&D. Your role:

• Develops, prepares and communicates a clinical topic under consideration
• Determines clinical internal and external customer requirements

• Provides analysis and tracking of competitive trends, clinical literature, and clinical data through ongoing reporting, ad-hoc analysis and partnership to share insights and ensure understanding within the clinical and marketing organization
• Assists in creation of offerings which can be studied to demonstrate clinical benefit
• Creates and publishes summaries and key takeaways from select journals, tradeshows, and societies that are of critical importance to the company
• Collaborates closely with marketing and product development on key articles/materials that should be leveraged to support sales conversations, update marketing messaging, or inform product development opportunities
• Coordinates with the CMO, Medical Directors, Marketing and Sales to identify topics of value requiring consideration
