SHIFT: Monday thru Friday day shift with nights and weekend coverage as needed.
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance and coordination of food processing equipment including leading and directing maintenance technicians. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff. Assist the Maintenance Manager to direct and coordinate maintenance policies and procedures, maintain a safe and clean environment, achieve site KPI’s, and develop and mentor maintenance technicians. Manage and oversee the maintenance, repairs, and improvements of equipment. Quickly assess problems to minimize downtime of production. Must possess knowledge of SQF Quality Management policies and procedures along with GMP practices to ensure all maintenance team members understand and follow the company policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a strong leader who is project oriented. Must have the ability and experience to: lead, direct/delegate, multitask, evaluate, develop/mentor, and train a staff of 15 maintenance technicians; measure, monitor and reduce machine downtime; Must be a strong troubleshooter and able to diagnose basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic problems. Must have experience with reading drawings, schematics, and P&ID’s. Must be able to direct/assist with repairs; promote a ‘Safety First’ culture amongst staff; and, develop and maintain an effective maintenance program for equipment and plant.
Education:
Associates degree or college program certificate; or 5+ years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Experience:
2 years of experience as a maintenance lead or supervisor with direct reports. Experience in directing, evaluating and training maintenance technicians.
Communication Skills:
Must be able to speak clearly, listen and understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly in writing and understand the same. Ability to collaborate and present ideas or report progress of a project or incident to a group of people.
Computer Skills:
Must have basic experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook at the intermediate level. Experience with SAP a plus.
Technical Skills:
Must have knowledge and experience of basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronics. Must have sound troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Must be familiar with HMI’s and have the ability to read drawings, schematics, and P&ID’s. Must be proficient with hand tools.
