Our SCT Teams are multi-disciplinary teams that deliver treatments to young people with more complex, severe, and enduring mental health problems. As a result, you will find yourself working jointly with other professions such as Children’s Social Care.

The team is very supportive with many very experienced practitioners from different clinical backgrounds.
• The Health Advisor will be a key individual within the Mental Health Urgent Care Services for Berkshire and work as part of Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team’s Triage Team to review all referrals received by CRHTT. These referrals may be via NHS 111, patients, carers or from other teams both within and outside of the organisation.
• The post holder will provide basic health advise to patients who have been identified as not requiring onward referral to the CRHTT, or other services, and support them in managing their own symptoms at home whilst working under the guidance of a registered professional.
• The post holder will be responsible for the prioritisation of presenting clinical symptoms, throughout a 24 hour period. This will include the transfer of patient calls to the appropriate responders by undertaking brief clinical risk and mental state assessment, formulation and brief psychological interventions for people presenting in mental health crisis.
• The post holder, working via telephone, will be responsible for validating, de-escalating crisis and coaching people in distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies using a range of brief psychological interventions, empower patients, carers and families to manage distress and crisis effectively

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Practitioner to join a well-established, dynamic team working within the Adults Community Mental Health Team in Slough.

The Slough Community Mental Health Team is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of social workers, community mental health nurses, consultant psychiatrists, psychological therapists, occupational therapists, community support workers, employment specialists, and administrators/reception staff. The CMHT is jointly funded by Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Slough Borough Council. The main aim of the team is to provide a range of treatment interventions including medication and psychological therapies to support adults with significant mental illnesses in the community, as well as their carers, and to coordinate the services they receive.

The post would be best suitable for someone with experience of working in an Adult mental health setting. You would need to have significant experience of working with people with mental illness and applying a range of interventions. The post holder would be required to work in collaboration with service users and their families/carers.
• Providing continued clinical advice, training, and supervision to a group of staff operating in the multi-disciplinary team.
• Liaising with, developing, and maintaining a working relationship with other services in the locality, to ensure the safe and effective transition of clients between different services.
• Directing and supporting the team’s allocation of new patients, including risk assessments, formulation, and recommendations for ongoing care and/or transfer to the most appropriate care pathway.
• Responsibility of own caseload of clients presenting with complex mental health needs.

This is an exciting new role within East and West Psychological Medicine Services across the two sites of Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, and Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. We are looking for an experienced clinical practitioner from a mental health background in either nursing, social work or equivalent profession who is keen to support in the development of each team in their clinical practice.

Through strong clinical and evidence-based practice, the Practice Development Nurse will lead and support the promotion of excellence across both Psychological Medicine Services to develop the teams in ensuring that the patient experience and clinical records are of the highest quality. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Practitioner to join a well-established, dynamic team working within the Adults Community Mental Health Team in Slough.

The Slough Community Mental Health Team is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of social workers, community mental health nurses, consultant psychiatrists, psychological therapists, occupational therapists, community support workers, employment specialists, and administrators/reception staff. The post would be best suitable for someone with experience of working in an Adult mental health setting. You would need to have significant experience of working with people with mental illness and applying a range of interventions. The post holder would be required to work in collaboration with service users and their families/carers.
• Providing continued clinical advice, training, and supervision to a group of staff operating in the multi-disciplinary team.
• Liaising with, developing, and maintaining a working relationship with other services in the locality, to ensure the safe and effective transition of clients between different services.
• Directing and supporting the team’s allocation of new patients, including risk assessments, formulation, and recommendations for ongoing care and/or transfer to the most appropriate care pathway.

This is an excitingopportunity to jointhe service as we shape our services in line with the THRIVE model. The service area consists of teams delivering prevention andearly accessto help, for children and young people with mental health difficulties, working alongside and supporting colleagues in universal services, schools and local authority early help services,educationand primary care.You will have responsibility for the psychological provision of services delivering care aligned to Thriving, Getting Advice and Support and Getting Help needs based grouping in the Thrive framework across Berkshire Healthcare.


Working in Berkshire localities/Places and with colleagues from across the Trust and other agencies, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role in focussing and progressing our psychological care provision. You will be supported to develop your clinical leadership and change management skills, while continuing to use your supervision, consultation,trainingand governance skills to enhance patient and staff well-being.

• To provide clinical, professional, and operationally enabled leadership for services within area of responsibility.
• To ensure the systematic provision of high-quality evidence-based specialist psychological provision within the area of responsibility, and collaborating closely with other psychological consultants, clinical and professional leads, develop cohesive psychological pathways across service boundaries.
• To work with other clinical and professional leads and managers within the wider servicesand across local/regional system
• To ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of psychological professionals and practitioners, including working alongside operational managers to ensure clear systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, and the identification of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) needs.
• To provide support and advice to managers and colleagues on issues concerned with evidence-based psychological practice and provide expert clinical consultation and professional guidance to psychological practitioners and other staff within areas of responsibility, across the wider service, division and across the Trust and system partners, asrequired.
• To provide expert consultation, teaching & supervision to psychological professionals & practitioners, and other staff both within the service and external to the services/agencies

The “must haves” for this role:


1.Clinical / counselling psychologistwith HCPC registration


2.Previousclinical leadership experience in Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)


3.Extensive experience of teaching and professional/clinical supervisionalong with development of training and supervision models


4.Experience of managing strategic projects
