Job Overview:
Field Service Engineer/Fire Extinguisher Engineer/Extinguisher Technician - Absolute Fire Protection are looking for an experienced fire extinguisher technician to operate within the maintenance and servicing team. Reporting to the managing director you will be responsible for servicing, maintenance and repair of fire extinguishers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform fire extinguisher installations, surveys, repairs, and maintenance in compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that all fire extinguishers are in proper working condition, located correctly, and ready for immediate use if needed.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and efficiency in all servicing, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Proactively identify opportunities for additional maintenance work and acquiring new customers
- Keep detailed records of all work done, including expenses, and provide reports to the office manager.
- To follow the calendar of booked appointments that may include installation, service, remedial works either independently or as part of a team.
- To be able to complete services and other works on other fire safety systems including Fire Alarm, Emergency Lights, and Smoke Alarms either independently or as part of a team.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and enhance the overall quality of fire extinguisher services provided.

Skills & Experience:
- Possess a valid full UK Driving Licence and proficient in navigating congested areas like London
- Willingness to travel across the country for both local and out-of-town jobs, including overnight stays
- Demonstrated expertise in fire extinguisher maintenance
- Well-versed in fire extinguisher servicing standards and knowledgeable about current British Standards
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities
- Strong time management skills to adhere to agreed upon schedules with customers
- Keen attention to detail to troubleshoot complex faults and determine if additional safety products and services are required
- Prioritises customer safety and demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
- Proficient in accurately completing Work Report Sheets, Checklists, and Certification
- Legally eligible to work in the UK.
Qualifications:
- Fire Extinguisher Service Technician certified by BAFE SP101(preferred but not essential)
- Trained by IFEDA/FIA (preferred but not essential)
- Emergency Lighting qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Fire Alarm Servicing qualification (preferred but not essential)
- PAT Testing Certificate (preferred but not essential)
Employment Type:
This is a permanent role, preferably on a full-time basis but open to discuss flexible working options
