We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated specialty doctor to join our team on the Aquarius ward which is an acute adolescent unit providing inpatient, and day programme services for adolescents experiencing acute and severe mental health difficulties. As part of the South London Partnership (this Trust, with South London and Maudsley and Oxleas trusts) through the New Care Model Programme we are developing localised solutions for young people who require intensive levels of treatment. The service recently received a Good rating from the CQC.

The service is seeking a Speciality Doctor to provide medical input and expertise on the day to day psychiatric and physical care of adolescents on the Aquarius Unit which has 12 inpatient beds based on the Springfield University Hospital site in Tooting Bec. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work as part of a supportive, well established and skilled multi-disciplinary team who provide high quality evidence based care to young people referred to the service, and their families. They will join another full time specialty doctor (1.0 wte).

The post would offer valuable experience for someone interested in adolescent psychiatry, early intervention in psychosis and a DBT approach to emotional dysregulation.The service will support the successful applicant with regard to ongoing training and career development (MRPsych/CESR). There is protected time for CPD and you will be encouraged to attend the training on offer for CAMH’s ST’s based on site and there is in addition a hospital academic programme. You will be given DBT training and there is supervision of systemic and individual therapy. There are opportunities to teach St. Georges Medical School students and be involved with groups and therapeutic work. We are co-located with an adolescent eating disorder ward and a national deaf unit for children which are also excellent opportunities for learning and widening experiences.

South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust was formed in 1998. Springfield University Hospital in Tooting is the largest site from which the Trust operates and has provided mental health services since 1841. It provides a range of mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services.

The Trust provides mental health services to five London Boroughs: Wandsworth, Merton, Sutton, Kingston and Richmond as well as a range of specialist and national services including adult forensic, child and adult deaf services, adult OCD.

Role Overview:

I am looking for a Health & Safety Advisor, who has experience on a live construction site operating as the Health & Safety Advisor.

As the Safety, Health & Environment Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, delivery, and review of a variety of projects across Somerset.

Key tasks:

• Assist with the development, auditing and improvements
• Advise, assist and support in all areas of Health, Safety and Environmental to ensure all requirements are addressed across all departments
• Create and deliver internal workshops and toolbox talks to increase knowledge and promotion of essential HSE information
• Liaise, negotiate and influence with relevant partners both internally and externally
• Prepare reports and analysis from Safety and Environmental information and statistics
• Provide appropriate and accurate information in a timely manner to the Senior Manager
• You will report directly to the Senior Manager

Role Requirements

• At least 2 years within a site-based H&S role within construction
• An effective communicator at all levels with client-facing experience
• A technically aware team player with experience providing health and safety support in the construction industry
• IT literate
