We are offering an opportunity for a keen pharmacy technician who may be either already working in a medicines information service, or want to develop their skills and specialise in this area to become part of our friendly team.

We can support the right person through the Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme (MIATP) for pharmacy technicians. Enrolment on MIATP also includes attendance on the National Medicines Information Training Course. The service is based at York but provides a Trust-wide medicines information resource to health care professionals working in the acute and community hospitals, and a discharge helpline to colleagues in primary care.

The successful candidate will work with the Medicines Information Pharmacist in the day-to-day management, co-ordination and provision of the service.

You will have responsibility for maintaining the register of patient group directions (PGDs) which have been adopted by the Trust and will work closely with the Lead Nurse for Medicines Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
