Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll lead your team in fulfilling our customer promise and empowering people around the country to save more and live better.

• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).

• Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards and procedures; monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures; distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.

• Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback; teaching, supporting and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures; identifying training and development needs; and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.

• Manage systems hardware and software maintenance and installation by overseeing the work to install new, replacement, or additional systems; ensuring that the necessary repairs are completed on existing systems; and tracking inventory and ordering system components as needed.

• Manage the execution of QA guidelines, procedures, and programs by identifying ways to increase building efficiency and maintain inventory integrity (e.g. slot profiling, inventory adjustments, cycle inventory tests, managing outside storage, damages, strays, tracking and reporting close date product, hazardous material processing).

• Manage the troubleshooting of systems applications by working on systems problem resolution with Information Systems Division (ISD) and vendors; and supporting the continuing development of current and future systems applications.

• Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing and/or analyzing business reports.

• Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening, consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action to take or make recommendations in order to resolve.

• Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).

We are adding an experienced Quality Inspector with CMM and mechanical inspection experience to our Quality team! The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs with respect to incoming components and raw materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Performs incoming, in-process and final inspections of materials, electrical components, sub-assemblies, circuit card assemblies and final products to assure conformance utilizing drawings, schematics, specifications and work instructions.

• Ensures raw materials provided by suppliers meet contractual flow down requirements i.e. C of C, chemical physical certifications, RoHS, and REACH

• Works with other departments efficiently and effectively.

• Generates and documents approval or rejection labels, nonconforming reports, photographs, and or diagrams as part of the inspection review process.      

• Minimize down time by focusing on process proactive improvement opportunities and presenting them to management

• Some light lifting of packages required to perform receiving quality inspections.

• May include team lead/supervisory responsibilities as required

Qualifications & Competencies                                                

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

• Precision mechanical inspection experience

• Ability to interpret and apply GD&T

• First article inspection experience

• Receiving and In-process inspection experience.

• Requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y 14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gages required.

• Programming and operating a CMM as well as other QC inspection functions for precision machined components and assemblies

• ESD protection and handling knowledge and awareness of electronic parts

• Must be proficient with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, microscopes, etc.

• Ability to use microscope for quality inspection of parts for extended periods

• Ability to work in cleanroom attire for extended periods

• Ability to travel to Supplier’s facility to conduct Quality Audits and Inspections

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

• Ability to document and photograph non-conforming parts or material including reporting any inspection results to MRB

• Must be well organized and be able to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment

• Ability to read technical drawings, requirements, quality clauses, and SOWs

• Working knowledge of Document Control and Configuration Management

• Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, and ERP/MRP working experience

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision

• Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

Education and/or Experience                                                 

• Completion of a high school degree or vocational training is required.

• A minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience

• Position requires a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience running a Coordinate Measurement Machines CMM, as well as good working knowledge and experience with mechanical inspection measuring tools and quality processes

• Aerospace work experience a plus

• J-STD/IPC assembly, solder and inspection experience a plus

• Supplier Source Inspection experience a plus

• Wafer processing and production experience a plus

• IPC certifications (e.g. IPC-600, IPC-610, J-STD-001, etc.) a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary customer-facing team member for all Quality related issues:  assessments and product failures, returns, technical issues, process issues, corrective actions; primary point of contact for customer surveys, audits, and site visits.

• Verifies compliance to all performance specifications, documentation requirements, and customer expectations (per PO, contract, Q-Clauses, etc…) review and approval of design documentation.

• Verifies compliance to all DCMA requirements for product delivery; supports DCMA product / process audits as required; coordinates Customer Source Inspection (CSI) and/or Government Source Inspection (GSI) site visits as required per customer contracts.

• Completes First Article Inspection (FAI) per customer contract and/ or source control drawing requirements.  Works with various TMS teams to verify compliance and to resolve issues. Documents results in AS9102 format.

• Leads the response to customer issues; ensure CAPA responses are thorough and completed as per the committed time frames; coordinates customer scorecard reviews and related follow-up activities; coordinates the organization’s response to customer- issued audit findings and corrective actions.

• Reviews customer contracts and purchase order for requirements and potential issues, including documentation, unfunded deliverables (ex.  CSI / FAI), exemptions, outsourced processes; coordinates internal reviews and required to ensure proper flow-down to and execution by other departments.

• Supports the organization’s ISO-9001 / AS9100 certification; reports key performance measures, performance levels and trends at quarterly business reviews and other meetings as required; leads small teams through continual improvement efforts to address internal or external corrective actions.

• Investigates product- and/or process-focused quality concerns as required ensuring on-time response and implementation; reviews and approves recommended nonconformance dispositions; evaluates non-conformance trends, for recommendations and improvements.

• Supports the Design Development process with quality input to various phase review (PDR, CDR, TRR….) and customer meetings.

• Other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical field

• 5+ years’ experience in process engineering or product quality assurance for electronics or mechanical product

• 5+ years’ experience in an ISO-9001 certified Quality Management System

• Strong background using standard Quality tools / techniques (5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, process mapping)

• Familiarity with MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38534.

• Prior experience delivering hardware for aerospace and/or defense programs is highly desired.

• Experience within an AS9100-certified organization a plus (including customer flow-down, Q-Clauses)

• ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CSQP, CRE), or other similar professional certifications a plus

• Must be a US Citizen and able to attain Security Clearance.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to:

• Responsible for In Process Quality Controls, day to day quality performance in manufacturing (e.g. DPMO, FPTY, MRB) and     continuous improvement with systemic approaches

• Coordinates and conducts frequent cell level process layered audits with QE personnel and other site functional leaders
• Assists with regional and site quality initiative projects
• Assists to define achievable quality KPIs for their site
• Supports and assists other Quality Engineers in the Customer Focused Team for systemic issues and CAPA resolution
• Manages and collects systemic data for process improvement
• Sustains knowledge of quality and regulatory changes applicable to their manufacturing site
• Takes a systemic approach on initiatives that improve the quality system, using data and inputs from various processes and different accounts
• Keeps Site Quality Leader fully apprised of significant occurrences and trends that impact the quality of processes, quality systems or supplier quality operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, and/or a combination of education and experience is required
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment as a quality engineer or equivalent
• Demonstrated working knowledge of ISO 9001 and 13485 standards is required
• Work experience in a cGMP FDA 21 CFR Part 820, AS9100, AS9102 and ISO 14001 environment is strongly desirable
• Working knowledge and comprehension of quality management systems, measuring techniques, tools and equipment
• Strong technical skills required including electronics and electro-mechanical principles
• Experience in a PCBA low volume high mix or PCBA NPI desired 
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Controls (SPC), implementation and reporting
• Ability to lead problem solving activities with site level teams executing effective corrective actions
• Familiarity with inspection practices and solder knowledge 
• Experience in the application of Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies – CSSGB or CSSBB desirable
• ASQ CMQ/OE, CQE or CQA certification highly desirable

Job Summary:

This position is part of the Quality Department and will perform visual inspection of finished good parts for lasers (crystals and laser housings) and will complete documentation to verify compliance to specification.  The role will ensure conformance to requirements through the use of calibrated measuring equipment and visual inspection.  The job will also interpret part drawings & specifications and will reference company work instructions & standard operating procedures.

Job Qualifications:

Job Summary:

Teledyne FLIR in Elkridge is a manufacturer of high-tech robotic and security systems The Incoming Quality Inspector performs incoming receiving inspection of metal fabricated & machined parts and electronic components, reviews and/or performs First Article Inspections (FAIs), and assists with processing nonconforming product for precision products. This position is critical to the success of the quality and schedule of production processes.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Incoming Inspection: Inspect parts in accordance with receiving inspection instructions.  Inspections consist of inspection to prints, visual inspections, test etc.  Will ensure FAIs have been completed when necessary and work with procurement group and Quality Manager on failed FAIs or incoming inspections.

• Use hand-tools for measurements.

• Read mechanical prints for inspections.

• Follow first article package requirements to verify vendor part quality.

• Work with the team and effectively communicate with production, engineering, purchasing, and outside vendors to resolve issues with parts/products.

• Review Nonconforming Material Tags, enter them into NCM system, and take appropriate actions (quarantine, review with production, engineering, purchasing, etc.).

• Enter inspection results data into Sharepoint and SAP.

• Generate reports for organization on supplier performance.

Job Qualifications:

• 3 - 5 years of prior work experience in a manufacturing environment.

• High school diploma/GED required.

• Knowledgeable about various welding types, weld processes, and how to use weld gauges.

• Proficiency in using hand-tools for measurements (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.).

• Proficiency in reading mechanical prints for inspections.

• Familiarity with reviewing FAIs to verify supplier/vendor part quality.

• Familiar with metal working, fasteners, and machine shop processes.

• Strong computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• Able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, crawl under vehicles for inspection purposes, and stand for long periods of time.
