Newton Ward currently supports all wards across the Sefton, Liverpool and Kirkby footprint and of recent now provides psychiatric intensive care services to the whole of the Mental Health Division. Newton Ward is 12 bedded mixed ward based at Clock View Hospital that provides short-term intensive assessment, treatment, and support to service users, who are experiencing a mental health crisis, and often present with a variety of complex mental health needs. To maximise service user recovery, the team works in a trauma informed way. Our aim is to work in the least restrictive way as possible whilst maintaining patient safety. Upon joining our team, we will ensure that you undergo both mandatory and bespoke training, to fully equip you with the skills required to work within our psychiatric intensive care environment.

Our client provides support to people who are either experiencing or at risk of homelessness and / or have support needs. Our client is looking for an exceptional manage to take over responsibility for the management and delivery of their Housing Advice and Assessment Hub, providing a range of services for people experiencing homelessness, including people rough sleeping.

As an organisation, they offer help with building confidence whilst developing independent living skills and supporting people to address substance misuse or other health and wellbeing issues.

The role

• To foster an environment where meaningful connections are made with service users which maximise engagement and take up of services on offer.
• To maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant housing, welfare rights and benefits legislation and to act as a central resource providing expert advice and assistance which resolve or prevent homelessness or housing need.
• To have a working understanding of asylum and immigration legislation.

The candidate

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a related homelessness, housing or welfare advice setting, planning, co-ordinating and delivering effective housing or welfare advice services to vulnerable people.
• Expert knowledge of housing, welfare rights and benefits legislation and experience of translating this into sound information and advice.
• Experience of negotiating successful outcomes with local authority agencies/other partner agencies
• Experience of managing a project which successfully meets all contractual/outcome targets
• Experience of leading a high performing team, effectively monitoring and managing performance at an individual and team level
• Experience of managing building premises, ensuring essential servicing, repairs and maintenance are undertaken
• Good understanding of all relevant health and safety legislation. Experience of contributing towards full premises risk assessments and ensuring safe systems of work are maintained.
• Experience of effective budget management
• Able to motivate, lead and develop teams and individuals in a positive atmosphere
• Able to delegate tasks effectively and to allocate responsibility for work within an agreed system of caseload management.

You have

Due to business growth and expansion of their services, this is new opportunity to join my client as a project lead to drive community engagement, within their pioneering public health service focused on stopping smoking and community healthcare.

You will be someone passionate about making a difference, with an ability to juggle a wide range of different tasks and priorities. Adaptable and astute, your communication skills will allow you to build solid relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Your remit will be to drive referrals into the service by fostering relationships with partner organisations, organising a range of events which will engage community groups, and generally build long-lasting partnerships that will ensure the success of the services. Perhaps an over-used phrase, but no two days will be the same; you may be meeting key contacts within partners such as charities or healthcare providers one day, and another day could be spent delivering training or talking at events.

We are seeking an experienced Social Housing professional in Liverpool on a temporary basis until at least the end of January 2025, on a 35 hour per week contract with hourly rates up to £19 per hour.

Your new role

• Overseeing day-to-day housing management within the scheme and maintaining a positive environment for resident engagement
• Morning check ins via Tun
• Periodic health & safety checks including fire doors, alarms and legionella
• Void management and assisting with logging & chasing repairs
• Low level ASB management
• Basic support with benefits, signposting where appropriate
• Updating and reviewing risk assessments
• Responding to general queries from customers, family members or stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

• Housing/tenancy management experience within a similar role or social housing setting
• Good understanding of housing & tenancy management principles and relevant legislation
• Experience of building management, compliance requirements and relevant knowledge of health & safety policies and risks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• IT skills

• Lead Professional Role: Act as the main contact for each family, coordinating service delivery across multiple agencies to support progress on family plans.
• Multi-Agency Coordination: Facilitate the Team Around the Family process, applying the Signs of Safety/Wellbeing Model, and incorporate other evidence-based programs addressing issues like child development and exploitation.
• Program Development: Participate in the development and delivery of new prevention and early intervention programs for young people and parents.
• Practice Improvement: Engage in activities to support service improvement, including maintaining accurate records and participating in audits.
• Flexible Service Delivery: Support families through early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, with appropriate time off in lieu (TOIL).

Requirements

• Relevant Experience: Previous experience in social work, family support, or a related field with an understanding of multi-disciplinary approaches.

• Assessment and Planning: Proficiency in conducting early help assessments, developing action plans, and adapting the Signs of Safety/Wellbeing Model.
• Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with families, children, and partnering agencies.
• Commitment to Best Practices: Knowledge of safeguarding policies and restorative practices with the ability to maintain accurate records.
