INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT This is a 12-month fixed-term post for a Senior Clinical Fellow working within the Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Department based at St Jamess University Hospital. The unit is a tertiary centre for referrals for oesophago-gastric cancer surgery as well as providing upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery services to Leeds. This post will be suitable for a trainee who is taking or who has just taken the UK CCST exams or international equivalent and will be for 12 months. Previous experience in Upper GI surgery is essential. Given the tertiary nature of much of the unit's work, a post-CCT or an experienced senior surgical trainee are likely to get the most benefit from the Fellowship. The unit comprises six surgeons. All six surgeons undertake oesophago-gastric cancer resections, bariatric surgery, anti-reflux surgery and general surgery (e.g laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernia surgery). There is training in laparoscopic and open oesophagectomy and gastrectomy and a robotic program started in 2022. Cancer training is supplemented by broad training in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery including bariatrics, anti-reflux and hiatal surgery. There is a JAG accredited endoscopy unit and training can be provided to the candidate depending on their level of experience and interests. MEDICAL STAFF IN THE DEPARTMENT The post-holder along with 2 other Speciality registrars will have access to 4.5 full day operating sessions per week in main theatre and day surgery lists, specialist multidisciplinary meetings, outpatient clinics and endoscopy lists. This post will be allocated to the Department of Upper Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery led by 5 Consultants. The unit has expertise in the management of oesophagogastric cancer, complex benign upper GI disease, minimally invasive surgery and obesity surgery.

The post holder will be required to provide a full administrative service to the safeguarding team. To administer the Safeguarding Team statutory function in the communication of information relating to DRAM and MARAC meetings to colleagues in Primary Care. To support the administration and delivery of training to colleagues in Primary Care and ICB teams Main Duties and Responsibilities To plan, organise and prioritise administrative work, to ensure all tasks are conducted efficiently, accurately and within identified deadlines. To complete administrative duties within the team which will support colleagues to conduct their roles and ensure the effective functioning of the team. We are working with an exciting and innovative client within the construction industry. Due to site expansion and restructure, they require a Maintenance Engineer at their Leeds site. The jobholder is responsible for the daily preventative maintenance and repair of heavy plant equipment to ensure efficient, continuous operation of the site. Working as part of the maintenance team as well as working closely with the Shift Supervisor, production teams and contractors, ensuring the day-to-day maintenance and repairs is completed effectively and safely, alongside continual improvements to the production plant. Developing a detailed understanding of the facility to continuously improve maintenance systems and ensure they work properly and that they comply with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible to personally carry out Daily, Weekly & Monthly preventative planned maintenance (PPM) activities, in line with the manual and manufacturer's instructions that are recorded in the site logs. * Responsible for the workshop area, and tracking/replenishing consumables.

* Responsible for the spares and sourcing suppliers to ensure spares are readily obtainable, with the longer lead-time critical spares held in stock, resulting in minimal plant downtime.

* Hands on guidance and training, to assist the teams with both preventative and reactive maintenance requirements associated with the plant and equipment at Leeds.

* Responsible for the continual operation of the plant, fault-finding and breakdown repairs.

* Take a proactive approach to providing improvements resulting in minimising downtime and optimising production.

* Flexible to cover staff shortages and call-outs to deal with breakdowns and operational problems, and to carry out other reasonable duties required by the site management.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

* At least 5 years' experience within a heavy industry (aggregates, concrete, mining or waste) maintenance environment with the ability to fault find and repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues.* Preferably CGLI, NVQ, BTEC or HND qualified.

* Knowledge and experience in but not limited to: - Conveyor belt systems - changing bearings and rollers, fitting skirts. Pan mixers - Replacing arms, tips and wear plates, gearbox repairs. Hydraulics - servicing hydraulic packs, replacing ram seals, valve and hose servicing /repair Pneumatics - Airline replacement, compressor servicing, valve replacement.

* Ability to carry out basic welding and fabrication repairs and improvements as required.

* Strong team worker with the ability to train and motivate others in the understanding of plant and machinery maintenance.

* Ability to review and improve PPM systems and processes within a growing business, and (in conjunction with the Site Manager and Senior Supervisor).

* Willingness to be innovative, work under their own initiative, with strong organisational skills, being able to plan, prioritise and organise various tasks at the same time.

* Must have a flexible approach to work and be contactable out of hours.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

* Experience within an aggregates, concrete, mining or waste environment.

* Fabrication and welding experience.

* Basic industrial electrical knowledge.

• Manage the effective handling of official correspondence in line with agreed processes / protocols, including drafting responses for senior managers and case management of communications and queries until resolved.
• Coordination of meetings between various internal and external stakeholders, including management of electronic calendar invitations and providing support during meetings by taking minutes and updating Action Logs and other meeting documentation.
• Develop and keep maintained contacts lists and distribution lists for communication activities and projects and confidently take these forward autonomously - reporting progress to senior managers.
• Develop a working knowledge of online systems related to HR related contracts and the regulations which govern them (e.g. data protection) in order to provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders and action system based requests independently (e.g. setting user account permissions to the correct levels as defined by Senior Managers).
• Carry out project and business change coordination and support tasks and maintain registers, trackers and associated documentation.
• Prepare and monitor the associated cost centre's budget on the manager's behalf.

Your new role
The purpose of this role is to provide secretarial support for the fee earners in the Housing department in the provision of a wide range of legal services.

• Organising and prioritising workloads on an ongoing basis, in conjunction with fee earners
• Maintaining the fee earner diary / being aware of fee earner day-to-day commitments
• Preparing inward and outward correspondence
• Alerting, and agreeing with fee earner's, any changes in circumstances and priority with regard to workload
• Opening and closing files and general matter maintenance, ensuring all relevant money laundering documentation is completed to comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the firm's protocols and policies.
• Liaising with clients and taking instructions under the supervision of and as directed by fee earners
• Preparing, submitting and downloading property searches
• Preparing, amending and finalising legal documents and reports as directed by fee earners
• Preparing and submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax forms using the SDLT website
• Interfacing with the Land Registry

I am currently recruiting for an IT Support Manager for a legal firm to support the IT Helpdesk in both the Leeds and Manchester office. This role will take overall responsibility for delivering IT support services to the Manchester and Leeds offices to achieve clearly stated business goals and performance targets. Responsibilities will include all aspects of day-to- day management, involvement in firm-wide projects and co-ordinating with the teams in other offices to deliver a high standard of IT service consistently across the firm.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day delivery of the IT service functions within the Leeds & Manchester offices and ensuring the effective deployment and usage of resources to the firm's users. Working with colleagues across the firm to ensure standards of service are maintained and consistent.

Establish and operate systems to monitor progress, capacity and performance of systems taking corrective action where standards are nearing pre-determined thresholds.

Recognise and actively seek ways to exploit IT to address complex business issues both of a standard and innovative nature.

Ensure the necessary processes and procedures are in place to maintain or recover the delivery of systems and services in the event of any physical, technical or environmental disaster or major disruption to normal service.

Represent the Firm at a high level, both externally and internally, formally and informally, to establish the IT support team as a credible business function.

Advise the Firm's users and management regarding the delivery, cost, availability and functionality of services and systems and develop an effective partnership with suppliers and users.

Be approachable and available to staff and colleagues alike.

Responsible for assigned technical development projects and ensuring these projects are completed within planned timescales and resource estimates.

In cooperation with the Director of IT and the IT services manager, be responsible for all aspects of managing the Manchester and Leeds IT support team including:

Training new and temporary staff by designing induction programmes and monitoring progress.

Ensuring adequate staff cover during holidays, sickness, lunch breaks and absence.

Conducting annual performance review meetings, ensuring staff are aware of the standard of work required and monitor performance, as required.

Training and developing staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to meet job and department objectives.

Attending any meetings or training sessions as required

Carrying out any further duties as required by the Director of IT or IT services manager

Experience needed

Previous knowledge of legal applications e.g. document management systems, customer relationship management systems, practice management systems, digital dictation and case / matter management

Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft operating systems, server and client, Microsoft 365, Intune (MDM)

Experience supporting modern workplace technologies such as AV and Room booking systems

Good understanding of user hardware (user devices - laptops, mobiles) and working styles

Previous supervisory experience and ability to delegate tasks effectively

Previous experience of performing a similar role in a comparable environment
