We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our award-winning Building Structures team in Singapore. You will work across a variety of buildings projects across institutional, commercial, aviation, government, and transport sectors.

What’ll you do in a day:

• Innovative structural concept design, detailed design and specification, and the production of all forms of technical engineering deliverables for medium to large-size Building projects within a multi-disciplinary design team.
• Provide design sketches and reports required for schematic, design development and constructions phases of projects.
• Construction support including staging, sequencing, and troubleshooting on construction activities.
• Attend the project design meetings and assist the project managers with coordination of the design tasks.
• Comply with technical, procedural, and behavioural aspects of the job within the company to ensure standards of health and safety, quality, and ethics are maintained in undertaking all projects and other activities.
• Implementing and promoting digital design in project delivery
• Ensuring project performance excellence in delivery and assist in developing the Mott MacDonald technical profile
• Collaboration with other engineering disciplines and consultants
• Assisting with scoping, estimating, pricing and managing projects

We are seeking a Structural Engineer with relevant experience who can demonstrate the following attributes:

• Structural engineering degree qualification.
• Knowledge of Euro code design, excellent basic knowledge with hands on experience in FEM analysis and BIM integration is preferred
• A detailed knowledge and experience of relevant standards and specifications.
• Local experience working with architects, developers and contractors.
• The ability to produce high-quality engineering deliverables for construction
• Be enthusiastic and ambitious, with a willingness to learn and develop
• Be self-motivated with good organisational capability
• Be team focused and able to collaborate in multi-discipline environment
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Be well versed in PT, RC, steel and timber design

As a key member of the Civil Engineering team based in Belfast, the primary responsibility will be the design of civil engineering structures and elements and managing graduates to review and check and produce multi-disciplinary models and engineering drawings, predominantly for rail projects but also general civil engineering inputs in projects across a wide range of sectors.

Engineers will be assigned a mentor and will build on their academic qualifications and past experience with project related experience. This will typically be achieved through involvement in the following tasks:
The use of proprietary design software packages including, for example, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, StormCAD and INFOWorks;
Design opportunities in areas like Road Signage, VRS, utilities; Pavement, Cycleways, etc.
Drafting of design drawings and models (2D, 3D and BIM);
Specification of geotechnical investigations;
Preparation of Specifications, Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents;
Preparation of Tender documentation
Report writing;
Site inspections;
Coordinating and reviewing project-related correspondence and incoming/outgoing data, reports and drawings;
Preparing schedules and cost estimates;

Candidates should have the following experience and qualifications;
Hold a Level 8 degree in civil engineering;
Strong analytical skills and good first principles knowledge of roads/alignment/drainage design. Geotechnical Design/knowledge is desired but not essential;
Experience in general Civil Engineering design;
Experience in Rail sector desirable;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to integrate into an existing engineering team and work alongside colleagues of other disciplines;
Demonstrable report writing and computer skills;
Knowledge of data manipulation and analysis techniques in Microsoft Excel is essential;
Previous work experience in a design role;

In your role it is likely that you will contribute to the delivery and/or management of several projects concurrently. Projects rarely go according to plan and you will track and monitor performance against baseline and work constructively to recover and bring projects to a successful outcome to meet or exceed targeted profit, deadlines and output quality.

You will contribute to bidding and winning work, using your knowledge of clients and your understanding of the technical requirements and risks associated with the prospects. As a Civil or Structural Engineer within the maritime industry, you have a variety of experience in the design of port and maritime facilities and have been involved in the preparation of specifications and contract documentation. With your collaborative approach to work, you are comfortable undertaking client facing roles and are used to establishing professional relationships with internal and external clients utilising your communication skills. You have the ability to lead project teams as well as mentor and develop the skills of other members of the team. You're willing to communicate and engage with the broader business to seek guidance and foster an environment of sharing best practice. Additionally, you are well organised with strong planning and management skills and you're able to deal with various interfaces including technical, commercial and personal.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
