A General Attorney is expected to complete assignments in accordance with deadlines and expectations provided by the General Counsel and Senior Counsel in the area of General law. The attorney is expected to handle routine assignments independently and, when necessary, seek guidance and advice from a more senior attorney. This position will provide advice on a variety of administrative legal matters typically experienced by a federal agency, which may include: contracts and procurement, employment law, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Privacy Act of 1974, the E-Government Act of 2002, the Federal Records Act of 1950, and the Sunshine Act, as well as the applicability of Executive Orders or other laws or compliance documents to the Commission.

A General Attorney, PRC-4:

• In coordination with and at the direction of the General Counsel or the Senior Counsel provides legal advice to the Commission (including Chairman, Commissioners, Secretary, other Office Heads and employees) relevant to the Commission's statutory responsibilities and other federal laws, guidance and policy.
• Reviews draft documents developed by staff, including rules and regulations, resolutions, policies and other legal or quasi-legal papers; approves legality and form of such writings, in areas of assigned responsibilities
• Reviews proposed legislation, as well as draft Commission responses to inquiries from Congress, members of the public and other interested parties
• Coordinates and/or prepares written and oral reports (e.g., Annual Report) based on legal research and technical analyses as may be required to fulfill the Commission's responsibilities within areas assigned
• Works collaboratively with all Commission offices within areas assigned
• Works with Commission offices to ensure the legal sufficiency of responses to the inquiries from Congress and members of the public
• Works collaboratively with all Commission offices to develop, review and make recommendations on policies with respect to legal sufficiency and consistency.

This position is located in our Strategic Operations Division . As a Strategic Engagement Advisor, you will:

• Coordinate, in collaboration with the Director of Office of Stakeholder Integration and Engagement, Strategic Operations Division leadership and staff, and other FinCEN divisions to identify topics, develop content, and solicit partners for impactful public-private partnerships (PPP) via FinCEN Exchange events and BSAAG. The overall goal of FinCEN's PPPs are to protect the domestic and international financial system from illicit misuse. These PPP work in the furtherance of United States national security goals, foreign policy, and involve the financial sector, law enforcement agencies, and national security agencies.
• Represent SOD at conferences, meetings and inter/intra agency working groups upon request. This position is located within the Protective Services Bureau (PSB), Assistant Chief of Police for Protective and Intelligence Operations, United States Capitol Police (USCP). The PSB collects and analyzes information to produce intelligence, assess threats, enforce the law, identify risks, and develop and employ risk mitigation, Member protection, and enforcement strategies.  Specialty Units include Investigations and Dignitary Protection.

A USCP Special Agent within the PSB performs a full range of protective and investigative functions.  Special Agents are assigned to PSB’s Dignitary Protection Division (DPD) or Investigations Division (ID). The PSB DPD is responsible for carrying out protective functions and operations. The PSB ID is responsible for investigating violations of the D.C. DPD Special Agents -
Provide protection of congressional leadership, including the coordination of security arrangements for domestic and international travel through advance security surveys and on-the-ground protection. Provide personal security of Members of Congress and their families; visiting officials of foreign, Federal, state, and/or local governments; and other congressional visitors. Provide protective coverage for congressional events such as congressional hearings and sessions, official functions, and other events identified by the respective Sergeant at Arms and/or Chief of Police.

ID Special Agents -
Investigate criminal and terroristic activity involving violations of the D.C. Code and Title 18 of the U.S. Code. Collect, evaluate, interpret, and disseminate information related to the mission of the ID. Prepare and disseminate written reports, including reports of investigation, various investigative assessments, and investigations bulletins. Perform a full range of comprehensive investigative functions, to include planning, organizing, fact-finding, and reporting results on cases ranging from routine to highly complex. Perform protective intelligence operations, coordinating investigative and operational efforts with other USCP sworn officers and outside agency officials. Serve as a liaison with local, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies. Conduct surveillance, surveillance detection, and counter surveillance operations. Represent the USCP during investigative and law enforcement meetings.

This position is located in the Intelligence Analysis Division, Intelligence Services Bureau, Protective and Intelligence Operations, United States Capitol Police. Provides assistance and/or performs work to facilitate actions for major segments of complex intelligence, investigative and analytical activities for a broad geographical area. Gathers sensitive evidence and intelligence information that aids and enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the United States Capitol Police (USCP) protective security programs and services.

Plans, collects, and analyzes intelligence information from unclassified and classified sources while staying attentive to emerging intelligence sources and trends. Manages the collection of publicly available information in a given geographic region or a specific subject area to meet mission needs using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) including mass media, the internet specialized journals, studies, conference proceedings, geospatial information and more. Provides support and assistance and/or evaluates and interprets incoming intelligence reports and other information vital to the success of the USCP protective and security programs.
Develops and maintains specialized databases, files, and records according to assignment.

Provides administrative support and/or performs comprehensive reviews, evaluations and manages complex intelligence information databases. Provides assistance and/or prepares special security reports and documents on a routine, continual basis.

Successful candidates will handle a heavy employment caseload primarily before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and also in Federal District Courts. They will also provide advice to internal clients on a variety of employment matters, including but not limited to those arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Rehabilitation Act, and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Applicants must have at least three years of experience primarily practicing employment law in federal courts or before the EEOC. Current litigation experience, including discovery, drafting, and filing motions, mediation, and participation in trials and hearings, is required. What is the position? 
The Security Analyst is responsible for all activities related to designing, selecting, implementing, and maintaining security controls for major information systems supporting federal government contracts, including achieving and sustaining authorization to operate (ATO) following NIST Risk Management Framework procedures and guidance mandated under FISMA.
