This position is located in the Human Capital Directorate (HCD) of the Executive Office (EXO) within the Antitrust Division (ATR). EXO is a very dynamic and fast paced office, delivering the professional management services that power ATR's people and mission. Within EXO, HCD is comprised of the Human Resources Section, Paralegal Unit and Training and Professional Development.

As an Administrative Specialist, the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing, proofreading, and reviewing reports, letters, and other documents providing recommendations for management programs, policies, and activities.
• Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on questions and situations related to administrative services.
• Responsibility for team administrative duties to include travel administration, document management, timekeeping, scheduling, correspondence management, invoice management, records management, performance management, training coordination, office supply management, using automated systems to log and track data, escorting visitors, and managing team office space allocation.

• You will provide direct high executive level administrative support to the Executive Director at Naval Surface Warfare Center Headquarters, Washington Navy Yard, Washington DC.
• You will interact routinely with Flag/SES leadership within the NAVSEA Directorates, the Pentagon and Warfare Center Divisions.

The major duties of the Administrative Support Assistant (OA)position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Serves as an administrative point of contact for the unit. Responsible for program administrative and clerical processes for human resources, financial, procurement, property.
• Coordinates budget and finance functions. Prepares program documents, records expenditures from purchase documents.
• Serves as property clerk. Reviews or conducts the purchasing of micro purchasing. Promptly submits payments on all invoices.
• Orders and maintains stock items such as office supplies and copier paper.

This is a trainee position in the Management and Resources Staff (MRS) of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB).

The incumbent is an entry level specialist in organizational administrative management programs, and will be responsible for assisting senior level specialist with complex and sometimes controversial studies in a wide variety of administrative management areas that include but are not limited to:

• Budget analysis and preparation
• Personnel and Human Resources work
• Clerical work
• Bureau planning and policy development

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

• The National Contact Center (NCC) centralizes VBA's contact center activities and provides greater consistency and higher quality service by customer-facing employees.
• NCC employees may have contacts via telephone, email, video, or chat with the public for the purposes of (1) advising and providing information on benefits and rights; (2) explaining pertinent legal provisions, regulations, and related administrative practices and their application to specific cases; (3) assisting individuals regarding how best to provide needed documents and evidence required, and/or (4) initiating inquiries to resolve errors, delays, or other problems in obtaining benefits. The employees will also assist with the completion of claim and appeal related work.
• Assists the inquirer with determining the short-term and long-term circumstances that might influence a choice between various benefits. Programs include, but are not limited to, compensation and pension benefits, home loan eligibility, education, health care, life insurance, burial benefits, vocational rehabilitation services, fiduciary assistance, general Social Security Administration benefit programs, and other Federal, state, and local domestic relations and assistance programs.
• Explains the types of documents necessary to facilitate timely processing of claims and appeals and assists with obtaining and completing such documents and forms in accordance with the type of claim or appeal being submitted.
• Explains VBA rating decisions and provides explanations for the decisions using extensive knowledge of VA benefits and services, claim and appeal processing procedures, and all pertinent information available within the systems of record.
• Performs claim or appeal related work including, but not limited to, providing comprehensive claim or appeal status updates using mandatory scripting requirements, processing change of address requests, establishment of, or change to direct deposit banking information, burial allowance claims, dependency claim, etc.
• Appropriately responds to interactions where the customer wishes to speak/discuss to a "supervisor," by attempting to deescalate the interaction by immediately addressing the inquirer's needs prior to referral for a contact by a supervisor

At the full performance level, major duties include:

• Performs and coordinates the daily operations of the human resource management and administrative issues for the COO Organization.

The incumbent of this position reports directly to the Chief Enterprise Architect and is responsible for leading and mentoring teams of federal business architects and contractor resources in creating, establishing, and managing a business outcome-driven EA Business Architecture program that ensures alignment and integration across all architecture domains. The incumbent is responsible for creating and managing programs to develop and govern business architectures, strategies, capabilities, and roadmaps, fosters open communication and collaboration across the judiciary, and leveraging and enhancing the EA toolset to facilitate knowledge sharing, data-driven decision-making, and governance. The incumbent of this position works closely with stakeholders across the judiciary to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization and supports the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture division's services and operations.
