About the role

Lead a team of Asset Surveying professionals and data analyst(s), who undertake condition and compliance surveys to the Council's housing stock, ensuring the housing landlord stock portfolio meets regulatory and legislative requirements and maintains value of its asset base.

Responsibilities

• Manage the provision of building surveying and asset management activities for the HRA Housing Assets including Client leadership, project feasibility, scoping, design, and component specification for a wide range of building construction workstreams.
• Ensure stock condition surveys and validation surveys are undertaken to facilitate accurate work programmes to be produced, and updated Business plans to be developed and approved. Management of the stock condition survey process, including the collection, identification and measuring of building attributes, assessing remaining life and checking the accuracy of existing stock condition data.
• Technical subject matter expert for building surveying activities (e.g. building pathology, stock condition and validation surveys, wayleaves, option appraisals, permissions, land ownership, etc.).
• Manage risks relating to building fabric or structural failure through diagnosis and response to emerging issues (e.g. fire or storm damage to buildings, observed deterioration of fabric or structural components).
• Lead the options appraisal of assets to ensure they represent VfM (Value for Money), identifying options for potential disposal.
• Undertake Energy Assessments ensuring data is accurately recorded, and energy performance certificates are made available

Requirements

• HNC in Building Surveying or equivalent qualification.

Key Responsibilities, dependent on role and level within the company:-

• Install/commission our wide range of equipment including; Fire and Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Audio Visual, and Automation systems
• Provide excellent service to customers, building solid working relationships.
• Prepare for jobs by reading site plans, specifications and ensuring all equipment is available.
• Fault finding and problem solving when attending call outs / break downs.
• Provide on-site technical support and solutions to customers during both reactive and routine visits
• Complete all company paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements.
• Advise customers on new products and services to improve efficiency.

Salary is competitive/negotiable and dependent on the experience and all attributes an Engineer can bring to the company. Between £30k-40k basic mainly but please apply anyway and we can chat

Role: Field Service Engineer

Location: Ideally suited to someone in the Somerset/Devon area.

The successful candidate will be tasked with servicing and maintaining the client's Combined Heat & Power gas engine sets. The Field Service Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager. Full training and backup support provided.

The Role:
This is a site-based role. The work scope is varied between mechanical and electrical with the ability to diagnose and fault find independently with support from our control room. Product support and other training given relevant to the area work requirements, in the main MAN, Liebherr & MTU.
Duties include but are not limited to:

• Carry out scheduled Preventive maintenance activities and non-scheduled Corrective Maintenance activities.
• Plan and oversee non-scheduled Corrective Maintenance activities.
• Keeps records/logs of the scheduled/non-scheduled maintenance activities either performed by the candidate or other contractors.

• Strong practical knowledge of CHP, acoustics, mechanical P&ID's, Electrical Schematics
• IT skills, fluent with Outlook, Excel, and Word. MS Project and Office 365 experience would be beneficial.

Desirable:

• Good Electrical and Mechanical controls knowledge
• Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
• CSCS card

What you will be doing…

In this role, you’ll provide management and intelligent customer oversight for all applications provided to HPC and contracted third parties, ensuring regulatory compliance. Identify HPC’s telecoms requirements and work proactively with suppliers to address any service gaps, ensuring effective delivery. Actively maintain Service Level Agreements to align with NNB business priorities. Proactively identify opportunities for service improvements and collaborate with partners to implement them, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Other responsibilities in this role also include:


- Understand IT cost drivers and recommend cost-effective service delivery.
- Serve as the primary interface between NNB and partners for telecoms services issue escalation.
- Maintain visibility of risks related to operational application services, identifying effective mitigation and appropriate escalation.
- Define system performance measures and monitor, measure, and report on IT systems performance, including oversight of third-party support contracts.
- Assess and manage planned changes to production services, minimising business operations impact.
- Represent HPC in corporate initiatives, ensuring HPC requirements and priorities are understood and reflected in decision-making.
- Ensure the successful transition of Telecoms Services from delivery to operations.


Who you are…

As our next Telecoms Service Manager, you will have a recognised professional qualification in Information Technology or Computer Science, along with substantial experience leading application teams. Previous team management experience and a proven record of success in this role are essential. Additionally, the candidate must have demonstrable experience in delivering IT services within a regulated industry. We’re also looking for you to hold:


- Extensive experience in IT service management, with expertise in best practice IT processes and controls (e.g., COBIT / ITIL).
- Strong background in System Administration support.
- Proven track record of delivering service improvements and managing IT service delivery in a growing business unit, including financial management.
- Highly service-oriented, with the ability to build strong, partnership-based relationships.
- Demonstrable experience in managing and developing partnerships with external service providers.
- Skilled in SLA development and management.
- Experienced in developing services to meet evolving business needs.
