Site Manager (with technical specialism)Rosehill School is a maintained special school for children and young people aged 4-19, on the autism spectrum. The large majority of pupils have a range of social, communication and sensory needs and differences. We have over 90 members of staff, working over 4 departments. We are now seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Site Manager to join our amazing team. As Site Manager, you will be proud to lead the team ensuring our school is a safe, inviting and positive learning environment. You will advise and proactively work with leaders and the Governing Body to ensure the school runs as efficiently and effectively as possible following good sustainable principles. You will have key holder responsibilities and a flexible approach to your working hours i.e emergency call outs. Working in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the post with regard to the Local Authority and school’s equal opportunities policies and pro-actively demonstrate the values and attitudes to make Rosehill School a truly special experience for our children, young people and families. Job purpose: • Manage all aspects of the premises including upkeep, care, cleaning, maintenance, security, health and safety, and facilities management in line with statutory and regulatory requirements• Undertake repairs, and provide advice, in an area of specialism to include, but not limited to, plumbing, joinery and general building repairs• Take a lead role in ensuring high quality provision of premises management• On behalf of the Head Teacher/ School Business Manager, undertake the management of refurbishments, building advancements, and support developing, procuring, and implementing building projects• Proactively manage risk, ensuring up-to-date risk assessments are in place, particularly with the high-level needs of SEND pupils, ensuring that key information and training is disseminated to staffThe ideal candidate will have: • Good working knowledge of facility and project management • Experience in building maintenance, contract management or other relevant experience • Technical specialism in a trade skill i.e., plumbing, carpentry/joinery • Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety and building regulations • Good communication and organisational skills • Experience of compliance systems, completing audits and maintaining accurate maintenance records and site risk assessments • Building repairs and maintenance skills e.g. hanging doors, fitting door locks, undertaking minor plumbing repairs • Skills in completing statutory/non-statutory compliancy checks • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role • A team player attitude, and can work collaboratively as well as using own initiative • Calm and professional under pressure • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion • Flexible towards work and demonstrates sound judgement • We are looking for a team member with high standards and who is committed to caring for our amazing school building, being flexible to the full requirements of the role and how this will develop as the school grows in size and within the communityWe can offer you: • A stunning school environment, with exciting facilities • A firm commitment to you and your professional development including Nottingham Schools Trust-wide CPD opportunities • Friendly, supportive, enthusiastic and hardworking colleagues, staff and governors • The opportunity to help further develop and shape our purpose-built school• Encouragement to develop new ideas and the opportunity to make a real difference • A growing learning communityAdditional Information: The school is set in a residential area on the outskirts of Nottingham City Centre, and serves a diverse community. In 2009, the school was selected to be part of a Building Schools for the Future programme and by 2011, the school was refurbished and is unique in its design and layout. This large purpose-built site, which comprises of 4 department buildings with outstanding facilities, has provided new and exciting opportunities for enriching the curriculum and learning. We have begun further developing the site, but there is still much to do to maximise the school’s potential, which is very exciting!
