Location: Esteem North Academy, new Chesterfield site TBC



Travel to all academy sites, and pupil’s homes on occasion, may be expected, with mileage expenses available to be claimed from the nominated base.



Grade/Scale: MPS/UPS +SEN1 Actual Salary £30,000 to £46,525 +£2,539 FTE (Unqualified will be considered)



Start date: September 2024



Contract: Permanent, full time 32.5 hours per week



It is a really exciting time in the academy’s development as we look to expand our provision, enhance the curriculum offer and build a reputation as the alternative provider of choice in the county. We have made some really exciting appointments in the last year at a time where recruitment presents it challenges and we are now looking to offer a full -time permanent contract for a teacher to join our academy.



We are looking to recruit an experienced and inspiring teacher to join our academy to teach food to pupils in KS3 and KS4. The staffing teams are small compared to mainstream schools and the post will suit teachers who will take ownership of their subject and are willing to be flexible to meet the needs of the pupils and the academy. Ours sites are small compared to mainstream and house around 100 pupils. Classes may have up to around 10 pupils and you will be an allocated form tutor.



We welcome applications from candidates who are able to teach engaging and inspiring lessons to challenging and disengaged KS3 and 4 pupils.



Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. An affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding opportunity. Applicants should be resilient, have high expectations, and a sense of humour. You must be able to build positive relationships with our pupils and think outside of the box. You will be responsible for contributing to a small staffing team to ensure that the site runs smoothly. A growth mindset and positive ethos are essential characteristics that we are looking for.



An allocated base will be named for payment of mileage and any travel calculation between sites for CPD or for engaging in off -site rewards trips etc. Candidates must have access to a vehicle and car insurance with business use included.

Domestic Assistant

Working either individually or as part of a team in ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors following agreed work schedules, methods, and procedures in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness. The post holder will be required to have a flexible approach and be prepared to work on other sites should service demands dictate.

Porter

The post holder will undertake a wide range of duties to include, movement of patients, moving and distribution of supplies, linen, mail, waste, specimens, and furniture as required. Will be responsible for liaising with delivery drivers and directing delivery vehicles onto Trust sites. The cleaning of clinical and non-clinical areas. Liaise with other disciplines of staff. Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade as allocated by the manager.

Domestic Assistant
• Provide an efficient, high quality domestic service within clinical and non-clinical areas including cleaning of sanitary ware, treatment rooms, waiting areas, office areas, kitchen areas, mirrors, internal glass, high and low dusting, washing of tiled services and paintwork etc.
• Follow specific schedule of work relating to defined areas – though post holders are required to have a flexible approach to a daily routine and can organise and prioritise their own day to day work.
• Escalate issues appropriately and via correct escalation process.
• Ensure all incidents are raised and recorded accurately and within required timeframes and via appropriate system. i.e., Datix
• Curtain changing (as per work schedule)
• Economic and safe use of cleaning agents following manufacturers recommended instructions.
• Care and safe use of mechanical equipment e.g., floor scrubbers etc
• Replenishing disposable items, e.g., hand towels, toilet rolls, soap etc and ensure correct storage of all cleaning agents and equipment.
• Disposal of waste in accordance with the Trust Waste Policy
• Accurate completion of all required documentation to support specific service processes e.g., Barrier or Terminal cleans.
• Accurate completion of own timesheet
• Respond to supervisory instruction regarding required rectifications following service associated audits.
• Comply with Infection Control guidelines and policy including colour coding system.
• Inform supervisor of requirements for work materials as required.
• Understanding and awareness of site security whilst undertaking own duties e.g., closing of windows and doors securely
• Wear protective clothing as supplied by the department.

Porter
• To undertake a wide range of patient movement tasks, escorting Patients between wards and departments as instructed, using the assessed lift handling techniques and appropriate equipment.
• Delivery of Patient Food to and from ward and department, ensuring Food Safety practices are always observed.
• To carry out movement and distribution of supplies, linen, specimens, furniture, provisions, and cleaning products.
• Collection, transportation, and disposal of all categories of waste in accordance with legislation, policy and local procedure, and completion of any waste transfer notes, as required.
• Liaising with delivery drivers and performing Banksman Duties to ensure the provision and maintenance of a safe area.
• Receipt, check and distribution of routine and ad hoc deliveries.
• Receipt and delivery of Pharmacy items including Controlled Drugs
• Handling of Liquid Nitrogen (for which training will be given) at relevant sites

To be responsible for the provision of a patient meal service by undertaking specific outlined and approved processes and procedures to ensure the quality and temperature of meals at service are safe and appropriate and within the guidelines of food hygiene legislation. To maintain required hygiene standards and safe systems of work. The charming village pub has been awarded 1AA Rosette for their beautiful british dishes, created using fresh produce.

They have an ever changing seasonal menu to showcase the best produce on offer. This friendly property is renowned for its famous cuisine which is all prepared under the talented Head Chef. The enthusiastic kitchen team even incorporate home grown garden produce within the menu.

Due to the location of this Chef de Partie vacancy all candidates must be able to drive and own their own transport - or wish to Live in !!

As a Chef de Partie you must also have the ability to work on your own initiative.
