We're currently supporting a client in the Manufacturing Industry who is on the lookout for a Process Engineer with chemicals experience. The primary responsibility is to optimise production processes by analysing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations and are responsible for assessing and mitigating potential risks, implementing safety measures, and ensuring that the production processes meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
-Responsible for optimizing Plant work process and production
-Study and review the current process gap, recommend to HQ to obtain approval, and lead the change and implementation of new processes.
-Work with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of new or changed processes.
-Pro-active identification of problem prior to an incident occurrence
-Ensure the plant can operate in accordance to design specifications
-Champion Risk Assessments and FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis)
-Diligently follow through the PDCA cycle.
-Conduct regular checks and briefing
-Double up as trainer to engineer and Snr engineer and transfer of knowledge on new or changed processes
-Conduct training for the technician on new or changed processes.
-Guide and provide training to ensure the optimal proficiency of the engineering team as a Process Engineer
Requirements:
-Min Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
-At least 3 years of relevant working experience
-Intermediate MS Office skills
-Communications – written and verbal, ability to conduct upward and downward relationship management.
-Ability to read and interpret P&ID
-Basic knowledge of chemical operation process equipment
-Knowledge of ISO9000, 14000, 45000, and 50000
-Internal auditing skills
-Risk Assessment framework and ability to conduct an actual risk assessment.
-Problem-solving skills and analytical skills
-Well-versed in chemical handling knowledge
-Leadership skills – able to lead and motivate.
