The MedOCC team are looking for bank drivers to join their existing team. We provide services out of Medway Maritime Hospital and Sheppey Community Hospital. We are a 365 day a year, 24/7 service. The MedOCC driver is required to drive the clinical staff to visit patients in their homes. The driver will be based at the Medway Maritime Hospital MedOCC department but may be required to work at our Sheppey site where they are also required to work the reception desk, greeting patients as they arrive for their booked appointments, this is in addition to the completion of the any home visits within the Swale area. Our shifts are 6 hours long and all are out of hours, evenings, nights and weekends. The successful candidate will be expected to work across all shifts over a monthly period.

Ensuring that the MedOCC vehicle is suitably stocked with medical equipment needed for the home visits, the replenishing of relevant literature for patients and their families used during home visits. The driver will be responsible for ensuring that basic vehicle checks are completed to ensure that it is safe to drive.

MedOCC home visits cover the Medway and Swale surrounding areas, drivers are expected to adhere at all times to the highway code, driving license checks are completed every year for all MedOCC drivers. Drivers will be expected to support administration staff in the department during downtime from home visits. This may entail being chaperone to patients and clinicians in the clinics at the Medway Hospital, training will be provided. It may be necessary to support with service audits. The replenishing of stock within the clinical rooms at Medway Maritime Hospital may be required along with the unloading of delivered stock.

1. Communication and relationship skill.



· To communicate with the patient, family when on route to the home visit providing an estimated time of arrival.

· The ability to liaise in an appropriate manner with clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels, both internally and externally. This may include situations involving aggressive and anxious Service users where English may not be their first language.

· To communicate with Service users for Service audit purposes.

· To ensure that communication levels are maintained between Quality Assurance Manager in and out of hours within the agreed process.

· Inform clinical staff / and or Shift Supervisor (SS) of any relevant information that will enable them to manage the patients appropriately. This should include liaising with the (SS) when moving between geographical areas.

· To attend MedOCC quarterly staff meetings.

· To represent the organisation adhering to the dress code and maintaining the uniform provided in a clean condition

· To liaise with colleagues from the following shift and with the (SS) to ensure there is a smooth handover of outstanding patient calls, replenishment of drugs / stock, details of any issues that have arisen during the shift must be emailed to the Quality Assurance Manager.

· Meet and greet patients in a professional, polite and courteous manner when covering reception.

· Ensure patients are kept informed and updated regarding all aspects of their appointment time.

2. Knowledge, training and experience.



· The ability to use a range of systems and databases including those supporting GP out of hours services i.e. Adastra, Audit collection programmes, outlook/NHS mail and demonstrating good keyboard skill.

· To work within the guidelines of the Information Governance framework ensuring that data recorded by the service is within the defined boundaries set out by the Data Protection Act 1998.

· To demonstrate a working knowledge of the NHS email communications systems ensuring that messages are regularly accessed and actioned where necessary.

· To participate in the organisational appraisal process

· To attend appropriate training courses ensuring compliance with Statutory and Mandatory training is maintained for the role.

· To drive in accordance with the rules set out in the Highway Code whilst representing the Organisation.

· To record accurate details onto the driver sheet and to return all paperwork into the office at the end of the shift.

· To assist in the management of workload at times of peak demand such as bank holidays or periods of seasonal / epidemic fluctuation, liaise with colleagues or representatives of the Management Team.

· To undertake accurate Audit collection from Service users within clearly defined guidelines.

· To undertake administrative duties as required.



5. Physical skills



· To complete a vehicle check at the start of each shift reporting details of any issues by email to the Quality Assurance Manager.

· To complete stock checks of equipment and medicines within the vehicle.

· Ensure that all documentation is up to date and replenished as necessary.

· To ensure the vehicle is clean and tidy at the end of each shift.

· To ensure that the vehicle is refuelled safely as required.

· To ensure that the vehicle and its contents are made safe in the event of a breakdown or road traffic accident.

· At times drivers will be required to clean the vehicle and always ensure tidiness within the vehicle.

· To demonstrate a good working knowledge of office equipment and systems to support the administration of the service, such being familiar with the telephone system, photocopier, laminator, fax machine and printers.

· Preparing car boxes, medications and surgeries where necessary.

· Transporting of deliveries to areas of storage at the working base.



6. Responsibility for patient / client care



· To assist the clinical staff with the supplying of medication to the patients whilst out on home visits, when dispensing medication to patients ensuring correct paperwork is completed in line with service policy.

· To maintain a high standard of professionalism when encountering dissatisfied or unhappy patients and to process such instances accordingly to organisational policy.

· To maintain an effective appointment system whilst working on reception at the MedOCC Sheppey base, contacting patients and booking them into an appointment, ensuring patients are seen in the relevant order, highlighting to the clinicians when patient’s condition requires urgent attention.

· To ensure data stored electronically or in hard copy complies with the defined boundaries for confidentiality and to demonstrate a working knowledge of legislation relating to data protection and confidentiality.

· Ensure that statutory and Mandatory training is maintained in accordance with the training matrix set for the driver/receptionist role.

· To ensure accurate patient information is recorded onto the service systems.

The Nuclear Medicine department is a busy clinical department offering a comprehensive nuclear medicine service. The Radiopharmacy supplies other trusts and generates a substantial income for the trust from this work. The department has 2 SPECT/CT GE 16 slice CT gamma cameras which are state of the art, and new digital NM/CT 870 CZT recently installed May 2024. A new Hologic Discovery A scanner has recently been installed and around 5000 DEXA scans are undertaken within the osteoporosis unit. The department has a particular interest and expertise in Oncology, Orthopaedic Imaging, Osteoporosis, Nuclear Cardiology and Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders. However, the full range of nuclear medicine is practised including paediatrics, urology, and neurology. The largest number of tests are isotope bone scans, cardiac myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), lung scans, thyroid scans, DAT scans, renograms and DMSA scans. There is one day set aside for paediatric work with specialist paediatric nurse support. Gated SPECT MPI studies with adenosine, rapiscan and dobutamine are performed on 3 days a week. A specialised thyroid service is offered by the nuclear medicine department combining isotope scanning with the thyroid clinic. The department has an interest in metabolic bone disease and undertakes metabolic bone clinics and provision of osteoporosis services in the trust.

The Elderly Care team with 14 funded Consultant Geriatrician posts (13 in place) currently provide a wide range of hospital and community based services including Acute Frailty services as well as running specialist clinics for patients with Parkinsons disease, falls and general medical conditions. We have recently started a Rapid Access Clinic for Elderly as part of Frailty- Same day Emergency Care (F-SDEC). Inpatient elderly care wards include 5 acute elderly care wards and an established purpose built Acute Frailty Unit with10 Assessment beds, 22 short stay beds and 2 clinic rooms. In addition to existing services, we are seeking colleagues to take on the challenge of developing new models of care for frail elderly people in the community such as Frailty. Pioneering work has already established Integrated Locality Review meetings (MDT meetings, 4/week). Consultants are working closely with existing community teams to proactively assess and manage frail individuals in the community. We are about to open a 22 bedded Acute Unit based in a Community Hospital in Sheppey. The post holder will join the existing team of full time Consultants. The post holder will need to take responsibility for the management of patients admitted to his/her specialty Elderly Care ward (12-15 patients) routinely and those admitted under their care whilst on call for Acute Frailty. The latter would average 12-15 per on call. These patients are then streamed to Frailty Short Stay Unit if early discharge planned (<48 hours) or one of the 5 Frailty Base wards for longer admissions. Acute Frailty Unit has a dedicated Elderly care Team with 2 Consultant Geriatricians supported by their own team of junior doctors and a Multidisciplinary Team. There are 10 funded posts for Middle Grades in the department with currently 6 in post. Elderly care Consultants participate in an Acute Frailty On call service. The post-holder will be paired with another Consultant so that in a 12 week block they provide 2 weeks of weekday on call and 2 weekends on call. Full registration with the GMC and the ability to make decisions at a senior level, the role will allow you the opportunity to continue your personal development, and participate in the teaching, research and governance programs within the Department. Morgan Hunt are working with an NHS Trust based in Kent who are looking at recruiting a Deputy Chief Financial Officer. This is a 6 month contract role paying up to £53 p/hour. This is a hybrid role with 2 days p/week based remote.

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy CFO:

• Provide clear understanding and forecasts of the Trust's financial position, identifying key drivers, risks, and necessary actions.
• Collaborate with the Finance Team and PMO to ensure consistent reporting of efficiency savings (CIPs) and their impact on the overall financial position.
• Identify and enhance productivity opportunities with divisional teams, using benchmarking tools like Model Hospital.
• Support the CFO in managing financial risks, ensuring action plans are in place to meet efficiency targets and mitigate risks to income and expenditure.
• Work with key stakeholders to reduce agency and bank staff expenditure by 50% by 31/24.
• Assist the CFO in developing the medium-term financial recovery plan, working with external system stakeholders like the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Previous Skills and Experience of the Deputy CFO:

• Experience working at CFO or Deputy CFO level within complex NHS acute providers.
• Demonstrated success in delivering financial improvement programmes.
• Strong communication and collaborative working skills.
• Proactive, effective in providing constructive challenge, and knowledgeable of NHS financial issues.
• Degree-level education or equivalent; CCAB qualification required.

The role

Following the promotion of the current postholder, we are recruiting a new Education Capital Project Manager into the Education Service. This is an exciting opportunity to help our community and voluntary controlled schools to access significant capital funding to enable them to maintain their schools. The Education Capital Budget is significant and is approximately £4m per year currently.

The role involves liaising with schools, the Capital Projects Team in the Place Directorate and other colleagues to ensure projects are identified, commissioned and completed on time and within budget. The current emphasis for budgets are large capital projects for example, new school roofs and expanding specialist provision for our children and young people with special educational needs. This involves commissioning projects that are delivered by the Capital Projects Team but also academy trusts commissioned via grant agreements.

This is an exciting and varied role that would suit an experienced project manager.

You will have a degree related subjects, as well as successful track record in project and programme delivery.

We are looking for candidates with experience of managing development projects and programmes in a large complex organisation, positive attitude to change and motivation and drive to deliver high quality results.
